Prayer Requests 11-25-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

Psalm 98

¹O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.

Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

  1. It seems a small matter, but I have a dentist appointment today, and they are always disastrous, and I know this one will be no exception. (I can tell there’s a problem in one area of my mouth, whereas most of the time I can’t tell before a checkup whether things will all check out fine — it rarely does.) Bad appointments always defeat me, and I end up in tears a few hours later. And last night I had insomnia for a while, so I’m not rested today, which will make my emotions more volatile.

Perhaps you should pray more about my pessimistic spirit than the appointment itself. 😦

  2. Will be praying 6 arrows. Dental visits are never fun even in the best of circumstances.

I also need prayer for my attitude and a mood of discouragement and defeat lately. I’m feeling overcritical at work and overwhelmed at home with so many things that need doing around the house.

  3. Thanks, Donna. (There’s a nice receptionist at the dental office by the name of Donna, too.) 🙂

The news wasn’t that much worse than it ever is, considering I hadn’t been in for a year, instead of the usual 6 months. And I had a very nice discussion (as much as I could between having my mouth wide open) with the hygienist about births and adoptions, Bible studies, Christian comedians. Really great chatting about spiritual matters rather than trivial things. It actually made for a pleasant visit this time.

    Praying for you, too, Donna.

  4. Heavenly Father,

I pray this evening for my sisters in Christ, Donna, 6 Arrows and Karen. Each of these dear children of Yours needs a special blessing from You. Please give them a good night’s rest and ease away any form of anxiety or bitterness about how they have been mistreated lately. Show each one how much You care about them. May they know the favor of people they interact with and may they feel appreciated and not taken for granted. Please help them to leap out of any ruts of negativity. Encourage them through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus, Amen

  5. Thank you, Janice. I want to clarify that I haven’t been mistreated, though. Misunderstood, perhaps, but not mistreated. I’m sorry if anything in my attitude gives that impression.

Your prayers and concern mean so much to me. Thank you so much for your encouragement.
