Prayer Requests 11-18-13

Who has a request or praise to share?

Psalm 92

¹It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:

To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.

For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

But thou, Lord, art most high for evermore.

For, lo, thine enemies, O Lord, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.

12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

15 To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

  1. Becky’s husband, Brian, is going to defend his doctorial dissertation this afternoon at 2 p.m. EST.
I’ll mention Brian to the Lord. Brian is a good guy. Becky is the one who has the blog.

  2. Thank you again, Kim, for your love and concern in checking in with me. Always nice to see that “Alabama Caller” on my ID. 😉

I haven’t been very forthcoming with where I live (not online, anyway), but I appreciate the camaraderie and fellowship we have in Christ here, and I feel more comfortable now being a bit more specific about my location with all of you. In the future, if you hear of major storms or other similar events happening in the Upper Midwest, your prayers at that time would mean a lot to me and our family. Like Kim said, though, the storms yesterday were farther east than we are, so we were not affected (much), though it was a good deal windier than usual.

Thank you, all. (And yes, I’ve broken my fast, but this was a good reason to do it.) 🙂

  3. Well, turns out one of our sixteen year olds, S, broke his arm a couple of years ago. He never really complained about it, other than saying his wrist hurt a bit every six months or so. But did not ask the doc about it when he was there and never actually needed an appointment. But since they were there, husband brought it up, they xrayed, and it is broken so he needs to go in and get it splint tomorrow. I don’t know if that involves rebreaking or not. Our children tend to have a very high toleration for pain, but a little scratch will have them in tears. Meantime, he has played a lot of basketball, tennis, chopped a lot of wood, etc, without complaint. What is a parent to do? Prayers that the docs will be able to get it all resolved. Thanks.

  4. Praying for the needs mentioned above; also, I went back over the prayer threads I’ve missed lately and prayed for those needs, too.

Things have been going better at home lately. My fast was healing on a lot of levels. Thank you for those of you who have been praying for us in my absence. I am grateful for that, and I see God working through your prayers.

  5. Is it pick on Kim day…and when she was so nice to have called me today? Wow! Just wow.

Of course, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine…”

I say, here’s to laughing on the prayer thread. 😀 (And I did LOL at Mumsee’s 5:41, truth be told.)

    We love ya, Kim. 🙂
