Prayer Requests 11-15-13

Who would like to share a request with us today?

On Wednesdays we always remember to pray for the Gambia and those ministering there. Today I thought maybe we could pray for Roscuro and Ajisuun, and include some others as well. So how about you name some missionaries you’d like us to pray for?  I’ll start off by adding 2 more to the list, our friend Jo in PNG, and my brother Don at BCM here in the States. Who would you like us to add to the list?

Psalm 90

¹Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.

12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

13 Return, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.

17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

  1. Ex husband and I had a terrible argument last night. I needed to buy BG a double bed mattress for my house. I called him and told him I needed to use some of the child support money to pay for it. I texted him the amount I spent and before I knew it, it had escalated into a huge argument over money and he got BG involved so I was getting texts from her telling me that she would be happy with the twin bed that was already in her room. I bought the double bed mattresses to go on a bed frame that she had already had. I can’t return the mattresses and he won the argument by getting her involved. I told him not to worry about it he could have the full child support amount and I would find a way to pay for the mattesses.
The back story to this is that when Mr. P and I got married he brought a king sized bed so I moved my queen size mattress to BG’s room and put the double mattresses in storage along with the queen sized rice bed. EX decided he wanted a double bed at his house for BG so the bed she has there is the one I grew up with and the mattresses I paid for.

It is just a big mess and he managed to paint me the bad guy in this and now BG is telling me she will be happy with the twin sleigh bed when before she made me feel so guilty and threw such a fit she slept in the quest room on the queen rice bed.

So now I am left scrambling for money and Mr. Poor Mouth won again.

  2. Ryan and Stephanie in Haiti and another priest we are sponsoring in France. It amazes me that France is being taken over by Muslims and we are sending Christian missionaries back in. The great cathedrals of the middle ages are sitting empty on Sundays.

  3. My sister, Linda Berg, and her husband, Tim, are serving as missionaries with Samaritan’s Purse in Kibigora, Rwanda. Two of their children are in a boarding school for missionaries in Kenya, one is in college in the states, and the youngest is being homeschooled. Thanks for remembering them in your prayers!

Kim: Sorry about the argument last night. I’ll keep you in my prayers today.

  5. Kathleen Dillard needs prayer support as a missionary to India and other areas. Storey Thompson is in Germany and BLT in Asia. Also, I know of retired missionaries who could use prayer. One in my church does not have a car and is undergoing chemo for cancer. She still does a great job leading WMU for the ladies at church.

  6. Heavenly Father,

It’s another Friday passing by and a good time, as is always, to lift up missionaries to You for special blessings. They are engaged in special work advancing the gospel into places that are oftentimes difficult to get to, have extra hazards associated with the target areas and usually provide for less than ideal living conditions. Thank You, Abba, for those who are willing to do this work for Your needs in this world and also for the benefits it provides for people worldwide for wherever and whenever people choose to follow Jesus the world knows more peace and love. I pray for the well-being of the missionaries and of their families. I pray protection over them from any evil that might be directed toward them. Help those who are ministering in hostile areas where their identities must remain unknown. They are there to help people yet they are mistakenly considered to be a threat. Please open the eyes of the hearts of those who do not have understanding of the great love You have for all people and how You sacrificed Your son so that people could be saved from the sins that doom to eternal damnation. Thank You, Abba, for the many varied ways the missionaries are helping those in need. Bless those who work in healthcare with an extra ability to administer a healing touch from Jesus, bless those who teach with an extra dose of knowing the right approach to not only teach academic subjects but to also give pure spiritual training from the Holy Spirit, bless those who are in ministries to provide food, drinking water and shelter, and bless those who are rescuing people from situations of human traffiking or other forms of violence and crimes of various sorts. Lord, so much good is done by the missionaries. You know the needs of each one who is called according to Your purposes. Work all together for good for them and their families for they do love You. We rely on the promises of Your word to be active in their lives for this time on earth and for that blessed time after earthly life. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

  7. Heavenly Father,

Please help Kim with what is troubling her. I can see that things are not being worked out in a fair manner. Help Kim as she tries to continue in the acceptance of unjust treatment from her ex. When these type happenings occur, I pray she will not make herself sick over them but will instead turn to You and give the injustice and bad treatment to You rather than getting dragged back into the same old arguments that get nowhere. I pray the ex will have a change of heart and not try to use his daughter as a wedge to push his way through on any issue. Soften his attitude. I pray You will bless him in a financial way so that money will not contnue to hold such importance over him that it is a priority over treating people decently. You know what can be changed and what can’t be changed in regards to this situation, Abba. Help Kim to realize what she needs to do or not to do to help resolve these type issues peacefully. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen
