Prayer Requests 11-14-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

Psalm 89:15-26

15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.

16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

17 For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

18 For the Lord is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.

19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.

22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

  1. Good morning. We will be starting school in 10 minutes. Prayers, please, for wisdom and patience and the ability to explain things in a way in which Becca will understand. She is significantly behind…I don’t think it’s going to be only a year of homeschooling…I never imagined I’d be doing this with this child. She can push my buttons like no one else on earth. And, I love her more fiercely than anything on this earth, except for my love for my older daughter. I prayed last night, asking God for wisdom and discernment, and giving her to Him, again. She’s exhibiting a lot of negative behaviors during the day and I can see her frustration and anger, as she feels she should know the things we are covering, but she doesn’t. Well…I’d sure appreciate prayer! This is one servant who is not feeling very competent today for what I believe I’ve been called to do….

  2. Please pray for young N, thankfully left at the altar 10 days ago. The story is sordid and still being unpeeled, but this 21 year-old dodged a grotesque sounding situation.

She has been shamefully manipulated and who knows the harm that has been done, but her family and friends–all 70 or so who were in the garden wondering about the “groom” (who planned to wear a long white dress–make your own conjectures)–are backing her and caring for her as best they can.

  3. Praying, annms.

A co-worker wound up in ER last night with a foot sore that just isn’t healing. She’s CS so rarely (as in basically never) goes to an actual doctor, but apparently this thing — which has been bothering her now for a couple months, I think — began to look scary to her last night, so her boyfriend whisked her to the hospital where they decided to keep her overnight. Pray that there’s no particularly serious underlying cause and that it’s just a stubborn wound that they’ll be able to treat with some antibiotics.

  4. Heavenly Father,

The days are full of things and situations to bring to You in prayer. Several pages in the prayer journal this morning were just like the introduction for the needs of this day. And now a little gnat is flying around here in the office. It has been in the 20’s at night lately and we still have gnats, Lord, really? Seems some entity wants to distract me from prayer. I know You know about who wants to distract us.

Lord, I lift up all those who don’t know what will be happening with their health insurance and ability to see the doctors with whom they have relationships. Things are in such a state of confusion. On so many levels we find ourselves feeling like lost sheep, sometimes of our own making and, overall, because of mismanagement of our nation’s goverment. Please help us to board the life rafts that will help us to recovery.

I pray for Annms who is trying to establish her homeschool routines. From the surface homeschooling looks like a lot of fun, games and field trips. That is a part of the whole, but the subjects must be analyzed and the best approach must be found for the needs of the student. Please help Annms to find quickly what works. Thank You that she has found support groups and friendly guidance. But because the needs of each individual child really stand out in the homeschooling setting, the homeschool mom has a particular kind of agonizing over how to give each child the best. Abba, You are with Annms. Please help her to turn to You upon each occasion of feeling overwhelmed. Just this week, You know how the pastor shared that with homeschooling their five that they learned to ask the children to consider how the Holy Spirit would want them to be disciplined. The children came up with serious answers to take care of correction so the homeschool mom was not always feeling like the ultimate authority. Did You, Abba, let me hear the pastor say that so I could pass it along to other homeschool moms? Thank You for any method You choose to get help for difficulties Annms and others experience as they try to answer the call You have placed upon them. The road is not easy, but You are with us the whole way. Thank You.

  5. I also pray for the one left at the altar that Michelle knows. Please help N. to in time recognize that the depth of pain now has reserved much joy for later for knowing escape from ever increasing pain. Please help N. to develop a relationship with Jesus the One Who have overcome the world and all its hurts. May N. recognize the depth of love that Jesus has for her and may this torn asunder relationship be used as glue for a lifelong even through eternity relationship with Jesus. Thank You , Abba, for Your divine help in this troubled life. Use it for good as only You can.

I do pray, Lord, for healing for Donna’s co-worker. You know the basis for the wound having difficulty healing. May she be given proper treatment and then followthrough with what needs to be done to finish the healing process. Thank You for the way You call attention to infections by giving us warning signs so that we do have time to find solutions to things that use to kill people. Help this one to try and take better care of herself in the future. If she has some fear of doctors or medical procedures I do pray that this hospital stay will be a good experience that will relieve any anxiety of that nature for the future.

I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

  6. Prayed for all of the above.

I will offer up prayers for all the regular/semi-regular WVers I can think of while I’m gone from here. I mostly stepped away from the internet for a while, but I am seeing a need to go on a complete internet fast. I’ll be praying as you and your general situations that I’m aware of come to mind.

Wishing you all an early Happy Thanksgiving. Okay, I guess our Canadians have already celebrated that this year. 😉

I’m thankful for this place, and all of you.
