I had kind of a crummy day yesterday, and today I’m struggling with a feeling that I’m not doing anyone anywhere any good. I know that’s not true (for one thing, my parents appreciated that I called yesterday after Dad’s cardiology appointment), but some days it’s hard to shake the blues and stop listening to the enemy’s whispers.
Please pray for my husband, Lee. He’s had to cut short his bread route today by skipping three stops, due to “intestinal troubles”. He thinks he saw some blood, too.
Lee almost never takes a day off, & now as owner/operator of his route, if he doesn’t deliver the bread, it doesn’t get delivered. So he’ll be going out tomorrow, his sort-of-day-off (he still goes out for a few hours to make sure the shelves are full & looking nice) to service those three stops he’s missing today.
Please pray this “intestinal trouble” clears up quickly, & that it doesn’t deplete him of much-needed energy & stamina. Thank you.
Praying for Lee, Karen. Also for Michelle’s daughter-in-law.
Thank you to all who prayed for me. The day is going better now. I cleaned out a drawer of a table in my bedroom this afternoon and found a family history of the farm on which I grew up that was written by my dad (with a short section written by my brother who now is farming the land). I’d tucked it away some time back, having briefly glanced at it, but not having read it in its entirety, and I couldn’t remember where I’d put it when I started looking for it again a few weeks ago.
I took the copy up to our “lookout” at the edge of our woods this afternoon and read through the whole thing. Being outside in our solitary woods on a cool day as autumn approaches, wearing jeans and a sweatshirt, having a warm kitty curled up on my lap as I read, and getting lost in the memories of life on the farm decades ago, did me a lot of good.
Long day and I just caught up on the requests…will be praying for you all this night…wondering if Michelle’s precious one has arrived yet….thankful 6Arrows had a better day…praying for Lee and his ever patient wife….hoping she can convince him to see the doctor…praying for you Karen….
Please remember to pray for Roy…..and his job hunt…
Good night all
The first four verses are a song that has blessed me many times.

My daughter-in-law is in labor. The last one took a long, dramatic time . . .

In over a decade of delivering bread, he’s only taken a couple sick days, usually working through colds & such.

Correction: He didn’t merely “think” he saw blood. There is blood. 😦
