Prayer Requests 9-16-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

Psalm 33:13-22

13 The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men.

14 From the place of His dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants of the earth;

15 He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works.

16 No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.

17 A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.

18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy,

19 To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.

21 For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name.

22 Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.

  1. Please pray for my dad, that his visit with a cardiologist today would yield answers about his irregular heartbeat, and for my mom, who seems more worked up about all this than Dad is.

  2. 6 Arrows. I went to the doctor with an irregular heartbeat several years ago. He put some wires on me for 24 hrs. It verified that i did, indeed, have an irregular heartbeat. He said he could give me something but it has side effects. What I don’t want most is side effects. So we dicided to leave it alone.
I don’t know when it happened, but the irregular heartbeat cleared itself up with no help from us.

  3. I really need to have your help in surrounding Daddy J’s family in prayer. The older daughter, her husband and Minister Man are out of control. The devisiveness and turmoil being created is heartbreaking for me. The younger sister, who has been trying to do everything is being dumped on and made out to be the one causing problems. Sister isn’t speaking to sister, mother is suffering dementia and is taking sides, the minister isn’t helping–he is actually part of the problem. Older sister’s husband is a creep man. He has always made my skin crawl. I have actually gone out a kitchen door and around the house to come back in the front door once when he and I were alone in the kitchen. I can’t stand for him to touch me or be around me. It has been this way ever since I have known him.
Younger sister was going to add on to her home for her mother to move in but now her two daughters have told their older brother they can’t stand to be alone with “Uncle”. Younger sister can’t have her mother in her home when it will be an issue for her daughters who are still young enough to live at home to have this man coming in and out at will.
It is just a big ol’ fat hairy stinking mess. I myself am on the verge of tears over the whole thing.
I told younger sister I am on the brink of calling and reporting Minister Man to the church authorities, but she asked me not to as she thinks she will be blamed for it. I have to honor her wishes but stiill am concerned about what is really going on.
I don’t know what to do. I need prayer as well that tonight and tomorrow, when I open my mouth it will be for comfort and peace and that God will take over and I will say or do the right thing.
    Thank you for the prayers.

  4. Kim, I am praying for you and the situation. However, an awful lot of fuss seems to be made over a dead man. Daddy J doesn’t care about any of this. This is one case in which someone in contention should be let to have their way. You and younger sister can butt out of this and leave it alone. Daddy J may, or may not, get a proper burial. Daddy J doesn’t care. Only you and younger sister care. It seems to have become a personal issue.
There has to be someone with authority here. Let them handle it.
Leastwise, that’s what I would want.

  5. Very sad, Kim, but not unusual. 😦

I also had the monitor for irregular heartbeats. Yes, I have them. They seem less, than they were at that time. I have some issues anyway, but this particular irregularity is not deemed dangerous. Some are and should be treated. I pray they will get some answers and your mother will find peace.

  6. Prayers said, Kim. Sorry that things are so emotionally tumultuous.

Prayers requested again for Becca. She had no one to play with at recess again today. 😦 Additionally, she is still complaining that the letters are moving whenever she tries to copy something from the smart board or even from the top of her paper to the bottom of her paper. She will be evaluated for Irlens Syndrome in a few weeks. Thanks!

  7. Thanks for the prayers for my dad. From the sounds of it, not a lot of new information came out of the visit today, but I learned a lot today from my parents about what they had heard months ago but never told me or any of my siblings. Dad had had a stress test a few months ago, and the doctor who he’d seen then could see damage to the heart and said it was possible that Dad had had a heart attack sometime in the past. The cardiologist today said the same thing, but said the previous doctor had prescribed the wrong thing, something that started with a “z”. He suggested warfarin, and went over some other options with my parents today.

Dad has an appointment to have an echocardiogram on October 15. He will also be given something to wear for 24 hours afterward, to yield further information, probably what you described, Chas. They’ll also be looking for any blockages or possible problems with congestive heart (which I just learned today is something his mom had had) He’s not in any pain, but has shortness of breath whenever he has any physical work to do. He likes riding his bike, and wants to continue with that to keep physically fit, and he’s able to do that only if he pedals very very slowly.

    Continued prayers are appreciated.

  8. Praying for your Daddy 6Arrows….and praying for wise doctors!
I was in the ER for 5 hours today having tests, blood drawn, ekg’s, xrays….at midnight Saturday night, I thought I was having a heart attack…my doc told me to get myself to the ER this morning and wasn’t too happy I didn’t go when I was experiencing the pain…my tests turned out ok and they still don’t know what it was I experienced….but, if it happens again…I’ll be going to the ER…even if it is midnight…

  9. Thank you, NancyJill. And I’ll be praying for you, too. Glad to hear your tests were ok, and I hope you don’t experience again whatever it was that happened.

  10. Gallbladder nancyjill? That can mimic heart pain, except it’s more on the right side — a friend from the dog park who has had heart issues went in with pain like that one night, they were sure it was another heart attack, but it turned out to be the gallbladder which they later removed.

  11. That is what I suspected Donna….I had many of the symptoms….the Doctor ran tests on my liver and gallbladder and they resulted within the normal range….she was concerned about blood clots due to my being on hormone replacement therapy for the past 18 years….but that too fell within normal limits….she was concerned about my ekg…she said my heart doesn’t beat “normal”…but she had nothing to compare it to…and my “not normal” heartbeat might be “normal” for me….my family doc has been so for the past 20 years…he knows my heartbeat well and he didn’t note anything weird when I went in for my physical last month….I’m just hoping it doesn’t happen again…it was really painful…..
