Here it is! Proffer your prognostications post-haste people, as the first game is Friday. Pick your pack of pig-skin players in each game below, and enjoy a pickle at your leisure. The numbers are the AP national ranking. This week there are a couple of Top 25 matchups that should prove to be interesting games, unless one of the teams has a Texas (read “Longhorn”)-sized meltdown under pressure. Remember to get your picks in before Mumsee’s team takes the field at 8:00 PM EDT (7:00 CDT/6:00 MDT/5:00 PDT) on Friday, 9/13/2013. Feel free also to offer your own commentary. Just make sure your contest entry is in this thread, and not lost amongst all the pet talk in the daily thread. Should you want more info on the teams, go to http://espn.go.com/college-football/teams.
You choices for the week:
Air Force @ Boise State – Friday night lights in Idaho! (But will Friday the 13th be unlucky for BSU?)
No. 5 Stanford @ Army – Hey, might as well throw in another military academy.
Delaware @ Navy – Can’t have Army without Navy.
No. 7 Louisville @ Kentucky – Is this the biggest game in the Bluegrass state?
No. 16 UCLA @ No. 23 Nebraska – Should be a good game. But can the Bruins win in Cornhusker territory?
No. 1 Alabama @ No. 6 Texas A&M – Okay, folks. It’s not the “Game of the Century” or some other hyperbole, but it is the game of the week.
Mississippi State @ Auburn – Not a big one nationally, but I am sure the Auburn fans think it’s very important!
No. 21 Notre Dame @ Purdue – I only picked this because of all the ND and Purdue fans here.
No. 25 Ole Miss @Texas – Does anyone remember when Ole Miss was ranked higher than the Longhorns? I don’t.
Tie Breaker- Pick the winner and the score: UTSA @ Arizona – I don’t think it will be a close game. Personally, I wish Arizona would pick tougher opponents before playing the PAC 12 games. I mean, Northern Arizona, UNLV and Texas-San Antonio are mere scrimmages, not true tests!
Boise
Stanford
Navy
Louisville
Nebraska
Alabama (if we win this one, we’re going all the way-again. Roll Tide!!!)
Auburn
Purdue
Ole Miss
Arizona 21 – UTSA 7
Go Boise!
Stanford, as if I cared
Navy one of the service teams has to win.
Kentucky. My heart overrules my mind here. Jenn’s husband is a Wildcat.
Nevraska. Ratings mean nothing this early in the season
Bama
Purdue. KBells and I are taking a big risk. Purdue can beat ND.
Ol Miss. However, palying in Austin is a big disadvantage.
Arizona 36-UTSA 14
AJ- BTW Thanks for changing the font color to red so the teams stand out. Perhaps my commentary should be separate next time.
My picks:
Boise State – Friday the 13th will be unlucky for the Falcons. Notice how few people know them as compared to the bigger academies.
Stanford – Army has not been good enough to pull off a major upset.
Navy – Anchors aweigh!
No. 7 Louisville – I can’t imagine Kentucky beating the number 7 team.
No. 23 Nebraska – My heart hopes for the Bruins, but reality says otherwise.
No. 6 Texas A&M – The upset of the week! Sorry ‘Bama fans. A & M is tough to beat at home.
Auburn – Home field advantage.
Purdue – I cannot bring myself to face reality as I will never root for ND, unless they play a team I dislike more. Which is rare.
Texas – Reality, not desire. I think Texas might be the one school I like less than ND. If you were a Big 12 fan, you’d know why.
Tie Breaker- Arizona – Bear down, Arizona, Bear Down, Red and Blue! Just don’t gloat about beating the little guys. And PLEASE pull off a Rose Bowl soon! (They are the only school from the former PAC-10 who has never been to the Rose Bowl.) Score: 45 – 17
Boise State
Stanford, even though I don’t like it. 😦
Delaware
Louisville
UCLA
Texas A+M, who doesn’t love an upset? 🙂
Mississippi State
Notre Dame, Go Irish. Please.
Ole Miss
Arizona, 35-17
Okay, AJ. Get ready for Peter’s palavering. I’m pondering what platitudes and praises I’ll provide for each pair of participating party of players. (I wonder how many ‘p’ words I can put in one post?)
Boise State In a blowout.
Stanford. Ditto.
Delaware Obama has weakened our military.
Louisville Can’t pick the upset.
Nebraska
Texas A&M We will be there.
Auburn. This is a tough one.
Notre Dame
Ole Miss Would like to drive over and catch the 2nd half, but it would put us home too late.
Arizona 49-14
Air Force is giving Boise a fit so far.
It’s half time and Boise is ahead 21/17. Mostly because they had the ball last. And AF had to settle for a field goal on one drive.
I can’t stay up to see the end of this.
Excuse me, but you forgot to say what time the games begin on PNG time!

Jo- Since I don’t know how many hours different you are, I figure as long as you post on your Friday you’ll be fine.
kbells- Adios. She tied with two others (I think Tychicus and you) with 8 correct, but her tie breaker score was closer.
