Psalm 17
1 Hear the right, O Lord, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.
2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.
3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.
5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.
6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.
7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
9 From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.
10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.
11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;
12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
13 Arise, O Lord, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:
14 From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
Wandering Views 
Prayers needed for Becca’s first day of school. She came down last night around midnight and said her throat hurt a lot, but I think it’s just nerves. She is very anxious that kids won’t like her and that she won’t have anyone to play with at recess. Please pray the other kids would be nice to her and that she’d have a fantastic first day. Thanks.

A lady in my Sunday School class had her house burglarized this week. She lives alone and struggled for a while with fear and forgiveness but seems to have a handle on it now. She is particularly heartbroken about losing some jewelry with sentimental value. Her name is Joyce.

We could use some prayer of discernment around here. There was an incident yesterday that was somewhat like pouring gasoline on a smoldering fire.

Heavenly Father,
This is the new beginning for some students and butterflies are sweeping their stomachs as each hour of the day brings some new unseen before set of personalities together. Even one rotten apple can spoil the lot as the cliche says for good reason. Hopefully none of the teachers encountered by the students, like Becca, and others are like the rotten apple because that can make for a mighty long and rough year. Please bless the students with teachers who are happy to be in the profession and who have a good plan and the ability to stick to it and handle any discipline problems wisely before they get out of hand. I pray for Becca to develop some new friendships. May this be a year of blossoming for her as she meets more possibilities for good friendships. Keep her open to seeing the ones she may not have noticed before as options for good friendships. Help her to put on blinders to peer pressure to reject anyone and give her a pleasant countenance that invites people to want to be her friend.I know, Lord, You know best what she needs in her school situation. Your Bible is about living a balanced life. Please help her, even at her young age, to seek balance and not go overboard when things work out differently than she expected. Thank You Abba for Your divine care of Becca. In Jesus, Amen

I lift up Kbells friend, Joyce, to You for a blessing of comfort in loss. Help her as she processes how You would want her to feel about her personal space being violated by the buglary. I know she must realize it could have been so much worse, but still the event has left her down, discouraged and hurt. She may even feel a bit of anger at You for letting this happen to her. So I ask that You give her by Your Holy Spirit some divine counsel that will help her through this sad time.Show her other treasures You give to her that she may have missed before because she was so attached to what can no longer physically hold her attention. Most of all I ask that You gift her with Your peace that passes all understanding. May her bad feelings be gone like a bubble that floats a bit in the air and then pouf! It’s gone.

I also bring to You in prayer Kim and her family. You know the volatile situation that breaks the peace with flares of anger. Settle their home down so that nothing is blocking the flow of love between the family members. When they open the door I pray a fresh breeze of Your love and harmony will flow in and push out the ill and stagnant airs of smoldering angers. You are so able to make a difference in the lives of Your children. Please, may it happen by this evening if not sooner. I ask in the blessed name of Jesus, Amen

I haven’t gotten official word yet, but from a FB post, it appears that the missionary that Jo and I know passed away today. Prayers for a sweet family left behind.

Please pray for a two year old litlle girl somewhere near Washington DC. She was running with a toothbrush in her mouth. It got her near an artery so even though they are doing surgery tonight, she is at risk for a stroke.
