Prayer Requests 8-2-13

Who can we pray for today?

Psalm 139

1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

21 Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

  1. “Search my heart, O God. Make it ever true. Change my heart, O God, May I be like you.” This was one of the first praise and worship songs I ever knew. I also love this psalm and it brought me great comfort this morning. Prayers requested for myself and family for safe travels and for heart-protection this weekend. Thanks.

  2. Continued prayer here, please. We continue to see the Hand of God working and that is a good thing. Painful as this has been, the stress level is much lower without the two who are away for now. Unbelievable. Found more notes, one telling her to run away, there is death here. Kind of a scary thing.

I AM FREE TO LOVE, TO LAUGH TO CRY OR TO PLAY

I surrender to ectasy today. I release the tight restraints on playing, loving, laughing, and crying. I feel a joy in letting go, a joy in surrender to ectasy.
Giving up control doesn’t mean that I have to be destructive or abusive. To give up control means that I surrender in myself to the experience of the moment. I allow myself to be swept away by a wave, with sheer delight in my experience, knowing that I will wind up safely on the shore again.
I can always choos to run from the waves with the illusion that I’ll stay safe. Or I can fight the waves furiously and cling to the belief that I can win. But while I’m busy fighting and being safe, I miss out on one of life’s feasts–the exquisite experience of surrender.
I will not fall into a bottomless dark pit if I give in to the moment. The dark pit is my fear, and I can face it.
Today I will surrender to joy and know that my Higher Source (God) is with me.

  4. More info coming out that would not have come out had we continued as we were so the shake up has been good. Apparently, the fifteen year old was grooming the eleven year old, during chore time when he could find opportunity. As she is emotionally damaged, that is even more irksome.

  5. It seems that once a child has been victimized it is easier for someone else to victimize them. Eventually that child may decide that they brought it on themselves since they were abused by more than one abuser and at different times.
I am so thankful that some prayers are being answered and that the truth is coming out. My wish is that she is made to understand that SHE did NOT cause it. SHE did NOTHING wrong!
Extra prayers tonight. Especially for the 11 year old.

  6. We have, of course, told her that. We are practicing a game where people try to get her to do something she is not supposed to do (like chase the chickens) and telling her not to tell mom. She is supposed to come to me anytime somebody says, “don’t tell mom”. Hopefully we can make it a habit. She is a creature of habit.
