Prayer Requests 7-22-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

Psalm 124

1  If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;

2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

  1. Continued prayers for Becca’s health. Yesterday, she vomited again from a coughing attack. We had to use her rescue inhaler, which is like magic. Although she still hasn’t received a formal diagnosis, from everything I’ve been reading, I’m determined she has something called “cough-variant asthma.” Her cousin also has this type of asthma and my brother has been a great source of information, as they’ve been dealing with it for ten+ years. She has all the symptoms of cough-variant asthma: cough longer than 8 weeks; coughing fits resulting in vomiting; coughing that is worse with exercise or stress (even tickling will set her off); cough usually worse at night; cough responds to traditional asthma medications (corticosteroids and short-acting beta-agonists). We have an appointment with the asthma specialist on Monday, August 5. We may need to add a drug similar to Singulair to better control her coughing. Prayers for wisdom for her physician would be appreciated. I’d really like to get this under better control before the beginning of the school year. Thanks.

  2. Ann, my son had asthma and I found that salmon is really good for relieving the inflamation that keeps it stirred up. You can get salmon oil as a nutrition supplement or you can fix it however your family enjoys it as a fairly frequent meal. I don’t know if it will help with the coughing, but it helped clear up wheezing.

    I will be praying. I am at work and have to go but wanted to let you know about the salmon in case you want to try it.

  7. The Kid is going to the beach for a few days with a friend and his family. He has never been out of my site for more than a few hours and I have not been alone for more than a few hours since he was born. (Hubby is in California) He has never been in the water without me watching his every move. He is excited about it and it will do him good, but I am nervous.

  9. I don’t mean to bear bad news KBells. But he is growing up.
    In ten years, or so, your nest will be empty.
    You have a lot to do before then.
    You do need to loosen the strings. Looks like this is a good way to do it.

  10. Heavenly Father,

    This is a day You have made for Your glory, from the beginning dawn to the blackness of the wee hours. I pray for You to receive the praise and glory and acknowledgement of Your holiness and mighty ability to save. Thank You for saving all who are here as believers in Jesus. Sometimes that is taken for granted. Forgive us for all we take for granted. Help us to see the reality of lostness of the unbelievers as You see their lostness. Help us to respond to them as You would want us to so they can be drawn to You.

    Lord, the needs mentioned on this site yesterday and today are very great. You hold the means and resources to correct injustice, to heal the sick, to save the unbelievers and to give peace to anxious hearts. You have heard the needs as they have been presented to You in this format. We are all praying in our various locations, lifting up the requests one by one to You. Hear us praying in one accord throughout the day and night over these varied concerns. We wait on You as the

    Thank You for loving us so much that You gave Jesus to take on our iniquities and call us righteous as He is. We are all so undeserving and You are ever so good for all eternity. In Jesus’ name, Amen Bible tells us to do. We know You will answer in Your way, in Your time. And we know You will do Your best to create a good outcome for those who love You and are called by You to be in these situations./

  11. Not sure what happened there with that post. It seems garbled, but I can not see all that I type as I type and I must have hit the wrong key that put some of the words out of place? Mysteries abound, but God knows all! I trust in Him and He knows what was said in the heart even if the hand and eye coordination of the blind is a bit off. 🙂
