And a classy display by both teams, waiting in the dugouts to give the greatest reliever ever his moment in the spotlight in his final All-Star appearance. He was also awarded the MVP for the game.
The American League defeated the National League 3-0.
While the ABC story mentions the “Kill Zimmerman” graffiti, there were threats as well.
Reports of possible racially motivated attacks have come from several cities. An unbiased DoJ would pursue these as obvious hate crimes/civil rights violations. But we don’t have an unbiased DoJ, so don’t hold your breath.
The Justice Department refused to act after being presented with evidence that a government official had “willfully” accessed private tax documents, it was reported Tuesday.
The evidence against the person was laid out in a letter from J. Russell George, the Internal Revenue Service inspector general.
He told top Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley he did not know why Justice had not acted, The Washington Times reports.
“We presented evidence of a willful unauthorized access to the Department of Justice, but the case was declined for prosecution,” George wrote in a letter to Grassley.
George said there was evidence of three other cases of government officials accessing tax documents since 2006, but that all three appeared to have been inadvertent. His department suggested that one of those cases not be prosecuted, and the Justice Department agreed, he said.
Now Grassley, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is looking for answers.
on the GZ/TM Case – where is the media wall to wall coveage of the killing that took place over the 4th of July in Chicago? Why is the State run media not having day by day covareage of those killing? What makes their death any less important then TM death? Where is your out cry and demanidng for jusitce for them? Where is the other people here up set over GZ / TM case, out cry and demaning for justice for them? Why does the media, race baiter promoted TM killing and not the killing of them? Why is Obama and Holder not sending in the Civil Rights / Hate Police into those killings? why can not people see the problem here….
Driving somewhere? There’s a government record of that.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Chances are, your local or state police departments have photographs of your car in their files, noting where you were driving on a particular day, even if you never did anything wrong.
Using automated scanners, law enforcement agencies across the country have amassed millions of digital records on the location and movement of every vehicle with a license plate, according to a study published Wednesday by the American Civil Liberties Union. Affixed to police cars, bridges or buildings, the scanners capture images of passing or parked vehicles and note their location, uploading that information into police databases. Departments keep the records for weeks or years, sometimes indefinitely.
We need a national investigation of the racial context that led to Trayvon Martin’s slaying. Congress must act. And it’s time to call on the United Nations Human Rights Commission for an in-depth investigation of whether the U.S. is upholding its obligations under international human rights laws and treaties.
Roy, Any thing Congress or the UN might do is only going to make things worse. Parents of black young men (and white and brown young men) need to teach their sons not to bang the heads of other people against concrete.
I keep hearing black people talk about having to have a talk with their sons about how to treat the police. My Dad had that talk with my brothers and my husband’s had the talk with him. My son is only 10 and I have had the talk with him. The most dangerous thing any police officer will meet on a regular day is a teenage or 20 something young man, (of any color) Like it or not, his main job is not to protect you. His main job is to get home to his family alive. You do what they tell you to do and worry about your rights after both of you have gotten home alive.
Parents are models for their children. If parents are respectful to police officers who are writing them a speeding ticket and other authority figures, their children will likely follow suit.
6 Arrows, The kid in the vehicle was an idiot. If he had rolled down his window and followed the officer’s instructions, nothing would have happened. He impersonated a criminal. If you act like a criminal, the police will treat you like a criminal.
6 arrow that man set the cops up, that is why he did what he did. This is the problems face the polices today people like this young man looking for a reason to cause problems
I have been stopped at check points many times for most of my driving life. That’s about 40 years. They are not new. My brother and cousin did see one and turn around and go the other way. The police went after them and stopped them. They didn’t find anything wrong but gave them a warning about running from a checkpoint. That was decades ago.
Personally I think High Schools give classes on your rights, how to respond to a police officer and how to protect yourself if you run across an officer who doesn’t care about your rights.

I know the answer:
If holder turns over this can of worms, he knows that what comes out is not going to be good for him or Obama.

My dad never talked to me about police.
I never talked to Chuck about the police.
I never saw the need to do that.

I don’t think my dad ever talked to my brother about the police, nor my husband to our sons.
Speaking of law enforcement officers, have any of you seen this video? Thoughts?
