Prayer Requests 7-16-13

Who can we pray for today?

Psalm 119:123-138

123 Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.

124 Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.

125 I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.

126 It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void thy law.

127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.

128 Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

129 Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.

130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

131 I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.

132 Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name.

133 Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

134 Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep thy precepts.

135 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes.

136 Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.

137 Righteous art thou, O Lord, and upright are thy judgments.

138 Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful.

  1. Becca had a CT of her sinuses yesterday. CT was clear. Becca is still coughing, though not as violently as before we started the medicines for asthma. We go back to the doctor next week. Please pray we get to the bottom of this before school starts. She sounds like she’s an old smoker–it’s that kind of cough. I think the next step will be allergy testing. I’m allergic to almost everything (besides food products), so it wouldn’t be surprising if she had inherited some of my allergies. The cough does get worse with physical activity, which makes them think it’s asthma, but there’s very little wheezing with the cough. It’s a mystery…

  2. Mumsee, Praying for you and your family. May God send His host to defend you , as you are certainly being besieged by the enemy. So glad that Kim and BG are able to be there and stand with you. I know the rest of us are standing with you in prayer.

  3. Putting in an offer on a house today. It’s around the corner and merely a smaller version of the one we’re currently in. Still too big with lots of stairs, but the best we can do. We, like many of you, are under a lot of strain. 🙂

Enjoying Kim’s photos of Idaho, though. And sending our love and blessings to the family.

  9. Janice, that was all perfectly clear. 😉

I remember texting an editor once when I was running late coming in for a Saturday shift. The text was meant to say: I should be there shortly.

It came out (with automatic spell checks taking over): I soul be thee shortly.

He didn’t answer. It must have sounded rather deep. Newspaper people definitely don’t talk like that.

iPhones and olde English, a curious combination.

  10. Fifth Arrow has had a headache a lot of the day, and now tonight has a fever. He had a tick embedded in his head a few days ago. It didn’t look like it had been in very long (it wasn’t very engorged or hard to remove), but we’ve discovered that almost all of the ticks in our area are disease-carriers. This is 5th Arrow’s second time with a tick-borne illness, if that’s what the fever and headache are from, which is very likely. Prayers for his comfort tonight as he tries to sleep.
