Prayer Requests 7-9-13

Who can we pray for today?

Psalm 119:41-50

41 Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word.

42 So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.

43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments.

44 So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.

45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.

46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.

48 My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.

49 Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.

50 This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.

  1. Prayer requested for Becca: (1) that her cough would subside; (2) that she would make at least one friend while at camp this week. She tried to go to camp (a day camp in her Grandma’s subdivision where she stays with Grandma at night and goes to camp from 10:00 to 4:00 each day) two years ago (age 6) and only made it one night before coming home due to homesickness. Last year, she didn’t want to go. This year (age 8), she is very excited about going to camp and staying at Grandma’s. She’s seen lots of pictures from all the years her older sister has attended the same camp and her interest is piqued! I’m hoping it goes well and that she has a really good time. As you know, she had a difficult year in first grade regarding making friends, and I think it would boost her confidence if she could make a friend while at camp this week.

  2. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your presence that is everywhere and at all times. You watch over our children even when we don’t ask, yet I think You perhaps put a bit more effort into the watching over when we make a specific request. I pray for annms’s Becca that she could have an easing of the tickle that leads to her on-going coughing. May the source be removed that is keeping her system agitated. While she is away at camp, I pray that she will find herself to be one of the most liked campers by both the counselors and the other cabin mates. Help her to see the needs of other campers and reach out to help. Please make her extra sensitive to the needs of others, to help with their homesickness, etc., and in so doing to forget about her negative feelings about herself. May she be a special help to the counselors and any other staff so that she finds favor with them, too.

Lord, I pray for Kare’s son that the pain of the breakup with his girlfriend would lessen day by day. Thank You that he has a praying family to lift him up to You for Your divine help. Please do not let him remain for long in the pit of despair. Touch him with Your divind love and make him to know that You have better plans for his future.

I pray for my own son, Lord, that you would meet the needs he has expressed. Please give him wisdom and guidance. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

  3. Janice-your prayers are so beautiful. I cry almost every time I read one because you seem to see the crux of the matter and phrase things so eloquently. Thank you for your faithfulness in this area. It gives me great peace to know my child is being prayed for by you and others on this site.

Update on Becca’s first day: (Becca is at a day camp that is put on by my MIL’s subdivision. She is staying with MIL for three nights. Camp runs from 10:00 to 4:00 Tuesday-Friday.): Becca made friends with a little girl named Kaitlyn. She was thrilled! The only negative thing that happened was that she had a coughing fit in the middle of her swimming test, so she wasn’t allowed to go in the deep end of the pool. Otherwise, she had a fantastic first day! Thanks so much for praying! God is so good!!!

  4. My nephew lost his father to suicide a few days ago. My husband’s cousin lost his 36 year old daughter to a massive heart attack. Two totally unexpected deaths and lots of devastated family. Pray it will lead them all closer to the Lord and not away.
