Prayer Requests 7-8-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

Psalm 119:24-40

24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

25 My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.

26 I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.

27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.

29 Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.

30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.

31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame.

32 I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.

33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.

34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

35 Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.

36 Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.

37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.

38 Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.

39 Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good.

40 Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.

  1. Becca still has a cough. She is scheduled to have a CT of her sinuses on the 15th. Please continue to pray for her health.

  2. Prayers.
I request prayer too. I finally got together with my neighbour lady. She really needs a friend. We had a good long chat together but I will need lots of wisdom and tact. She’s a sober alcoholic, attends AA meetings regularly and is Catholic. I will need to show/reassure her that God’s grace is sufficient.

  3. Kare, see if there is a Celebrate Recovery near you. It is similar to AA but The Higher Power is God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

  4. I met the lady today, sounds like she will be moving in on Wednesday. No idea how long she will be staying. She works as a counselor for druggies and other offenders, both in the prison and the hospital though now she is in a private practice. She was adopted. Should be interesting.

  5. Thanks Kim.

For those of you who are still up, please pray for my son. Two months after his fiancee broke up with him, he is still struggling. He called tonight to ask if we thought he should find someone (counsellor, doctor) to go talk to. He is sad and very down and sometimes angry. We talked about who he might be able to call, a former pastor of ours who lives near him, or my friend’s husband, who is a counsellor at an addiction centre (also teaches suicide prevention etc).

He knows we are praying for him, and that he can call us anytime. His grandparents are also praying for him. And now you guys. 🙂

  6. It is hard, Kare, but God knows our hearts and He loves your son more than you do. Thanks for reminding us to pray for him.

  7. I will certainly keep your son in my prayers, Kare. It is encouraging that he is being proactive in seeking advice/help, being communicative about his feelings rather than suffering in silence. Lord’s blessings to you all.
