🙂 It happened to Jesus and all his followers. He told us it would happen. He has overcome the world. We can trust and rest in him. Psalm 37 holds true as does all the bible.
🙂 Best weather in the country for quite a few days. Unusual and lovely. Where I live we REALLY appreciate good weather

😦 The seeming lack of any wise or true leadership — from any side. ??
🙂 God is still sovereign.
🙂 Fireworks season is coming to an end.
🙂 We’ve had relatively mild weather this summer so far — we’re barely hitting 80 on even the hottest days. Mostly we’re staying comfortable in the mid 70s with plenty of marine layer and fog in the mornings and evenings.
🙂 Finished my WWI proposal and it goes to an editor next week.

😦 Hubby leaves in a few days for two months.
🙂 We could use the money he’ll make.
😦 The school dress code goes up for the Kid this year. Not looking forward to clothes shopping with a 10-year-old for stuff he really doesn’t want to wear. He will even need a tie on occasion.
🙂 He will look nice.
🙂 The Lord’s Day. Looking forward to church, our new ministerial intern is preaching this morning on Jeremiah 3:11-18.
🙂 An afternoon at the rocky beach yesterday with the dogs, time to walk on dirt trails and then to sit and ponder, watching the waves, the surfers and families fishing from the rocks. Crashing waves, salt water spray, cool wind, sunshine, seagulls. And it’s all just 2 miles (and a steep downward hill) from my house, but it costs $10 to enter & park there. The city sells 1-year passes for $100 which makes sense for families who go there regularly. Such a beautiful spot. (It’s also where the marine & sea bird rehabilitation center releases all their sea lions and pelicans when they’re ready and well enough to go back “home.”) 🙂
🙂 Tess smelled like salt water last night, one of the best summer smells ever.
😦 The world’s kind of in a mess. But it usually is.
😦 Yesterday’s crash landing in SF and the loss of two 16-year-old girls on their way to attend a summer camp. But the loss of life could have been much worse considering how that plane looked afterward.
kBells – The dress code issue will mostly go away once he sees that all the other kids are all in the same boat. A word of advice (been there): on the items that aren’t dictated, let him have complete control no matter how outrageous you think it is. Our boys had to wear leather “tie” shoes. It was when Doc Martins were “in” (are they still “in?”) and they came in green. The dress code didn’t say anything about color, so No. 1 son wanted green. I asked the headmaster it it was OK and he said, “If that’s how he wants to express himself, it’s fine with me.” I thought they looked really stupid.

😦 Couldn’t go visiting as planned because of being sick.
Just a bundle of joy today, aren’t I?
