Who can we pray for today?
Psalm 116
1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
9 I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.
12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
19 In the courts of the Lord’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.
A good Psalm to read today. Thank you AJ. I have been awake since 2 with the “same song, second verse” so I won’t bore you with the details. I am deeply wounded.

Kim, you leave us with generic prayers. But God knows how to sort that out too.

Kim – I’m so sorry about this deep pain in your heart. (I’ve been there, too.) Praying for you, dear sister.

Praying for you, Kim.
And for you, Karen, as you and your husband decide what sort of deadline you need to give your tenants, or if you are instead going to ask the girls to find a place to live. BTW, one other idea: you could go back to the tenants and tell them, “We told you we aren’t going to give you a deadline, and for now at least we won’t. But if you are still here July 1, the rent will need to be $—” and name the going rent in your area. That may help give them more of an incentive to move, stop enabling them, and help you resent their presence less. But right now the “friendship” is working only one way, and you all are in a situation that isn’t good for any of you, including the tenants.

Well when your life sucks it really sucks. I was let go from the team this morning. I really wanted to see where it went, but there were people who questioned my role and my compensation.
Unfortunately the one who cost me the job hides behind his Christianity. Talk about a bitter pill to swallow.
I am trying my best to transition out with professionalism. I don’t want the agents who were good to me to suffer and I don’t want the clients to fall through the cracks.
As an example of how I like to leave a position, my first call was to Guy I Used to Work With. He has an opportunity with the company he is going to work for. I have an interview next week.

Prayers for you all. It’s amazing to me how many people in my life are under huge stress. I’m very sorry, Kim.
It feels to me very much like spiritual warfare, what is happening around me and to people I care about. How do you stand against it? By putting on the full armor of God.
And remembering you have to stand and face it with the sword of truth, the shoes of faith, the helmet of salvation, the gospel of peace and the breastplate of righteousness–there is nothing covering your back side.
Weeping with those who weep and feeling weak myself.

Heavenly Father,
We look up to You for You are on that higher level that we so want to experience here daily on earth, but we know that we can’t know it in full until Your timing for us to be there eternally with You. While we are here on earth, especially during these times, we will know trouble. We see it all around us. We see people suffering from physical ailments and we read in the Bible how You enabled the disciples to heal people. I was just reading how they would bring all the sick out in hopes that the shadow of the disciple’s robe would fall upon the ailing. O Lord, Jesus, we would love to see that kind of miraculous healing in our brother AJ today. What hinders that from happening? Show us if it is something we need to do or not do that prevents us from measuring up to what the former disciples were able to do because of their faith in You.
I pray for 6 Arrow’s friend, Karen, who is grieving over the death of her dad and others who have passed leaving her feeling really low. Lift up her spirits today, Lord, so she will know of Your divine comfort. Please.
I pray for Jo’s son in Cairo who is in an area of high protesting against the government. No one knows what might happen in such a volitle situation. Please keep him safe! And keep all the people safe from violence which so easily escalates. I pray for his pregnant wife to not feel anxious over the situation. Please give good health to the baby developing within her womb.
Thank You for Your care over all these situations. May we be pleased to hear good reports over thse situations soon. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Heavenly Father,
I pray for Kim and the feeling of loss she has this day. You know the reasoning behind what has transpired. Please keep Kim steady during this onslaught of arrows shot from the evil one who tries to knock us down for the count. Kim may feel knocked down for a moment, but You are her strength and the One with the supernatural power to pick her up and reminder her that You have a good future planned for her because she is a Princess, the daughter of the King. Please, as she feels one door closing, let her envision other doors opening with even greater opportunities to serve as You would want her to in this world. I pray You will silence the accusations of greediness, etc., that might be dwelling in her mind. Put away the guilt and shame that comes from feeling forced to leave a job. These negative feelings try to set in and take over and make people forget You and Your great ability to overcome. May she focus on You and Your greatness each time a despairing thought comes into her mind. Praise You, Lord, for the ability You alone possess to lift us up out of the mire.
I pray for Karen O who is tender-hearted as You would want her to be. She cares so much for people and wants the best for all. There is a solution that is best for all. You know it, Lord. Please let it come into her mind the divine way that will be a blessing and a help to all rather than making a difficulty in any of the lives involved that would hinder future good relations. You possess all knowledge, Lord. Please do not keep Your knowledge of goodness from Karen. She wants to walk in Your ways. Please show her what to do.
I pray for Jo while she is on her trip to be a help to the friend’s husband who was medivaced. You know the needs as no one else does. Please be in the situation with healing. May Jo give Christian comfort to this husband and wife. Help her to be an encouragement to all she meets who may be in the confines of a medical facilty. You have placed her there for Your needs.
I pray in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus, Amen

Kim – I am so very sorry you’ve had this terrible blow. My heart goes out to you, & my prayers go up for you.
Michelle – I’ve been seeing the same thing.
Cheryl – Somebody else also mentioned maybe having the girls leave. That is not what we, nor they, want. Emily, who was so eager to fly the coop at 18, is now embracing the concept of multi-generational living. Chrissy, who most probably has high-functioning autism (also known as Asperger’s Syndrome) needs more time to mature & grow. (But she’s been making great strides lately.)
If Emily were on her own, she would have to get a full-time job, & would only be able to afford living in a little apartment. Living here, she has our help & support in raising Forrest, we help her financially by not insisting on her working full-time, & Forrest has a yard to play in. (That little boy needs to play outside a lot. And Emily loves to do yard work & garden.)
Emily has plans to go to school to become an LPN (practical nurse), to eventually be a lactation consultant. She wants to begin the 10-month program that starts next January, but I’d really rather she wait at least another year, as the hours, including travelling, would be similar to working full-time. Not only would that be hard on Forrest, but tough on me, too.

I visited the lady I asked for prayer for several weeks ago. Melba is almost out of her eighties, but has been very active until her last stroke. She was given just days to live, when she had the stroke. She is able to be in a wheelchair, but cannot move herself. She talks clearly and is clear-minded. She asked me to tell everyone to no longer pray for healing for her, but for God to take her home. She is ready to go and tired of being here. I know she would appreciate any prayers for her. I told her I would pray as she wished and for peace and much joy until God takes her to himself.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the peace You give to people like Kathaleena’s friend who just wants to go to her eternal home. She is not afraid of death because she understands that You have overcome its sting. I pray that she will not get frustrated if You choose to take her later rather than sooner. Show her any purpose You have for her during these final days here on earth. I pray she will feel loved until the very end here and I know she will feel loved where she is going. Help her to be a good witness to all in her path. Increase her patience as she is waiting and watching with her final want before her. May she be blessed with an easy passing when it is time. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

Thank you all for your prayers and words. The hardest things to handle are that my honesty was questioned and that the man who stabbed me in the back is a lay minister with the Gideons and wears his Christianity on his sleeve. I have always been extremely fair with him. He cost me my job over $300.

Karen, I too don’t think having the girls move out on their own is the best . . . but neither is it best to have them continue living with you. Something has to give. If you didn’t have the upstairs, it would pretty much be either the girls move out or you get a larger house. Since you have the upstairs, the obvious answer is that you need your full property, and your friends honor that need, and quickly. Right now it sounds like you are being friends to them, but they are not returning the favor! Your family must take priority to you.

Kim – I just prayed that that man would come under conviction of the Holy Spirit. And also that you would be able to forgive him, which would be so hard, but is possible with God’s help.

Thanks everyone. Eventually I will forgive him or decide that God will deal with him, but not tonight. Tonight I am raw and ping pong between anger and despair. I have cried and cried….I DON’T CRY because YOU can’t hurt me enough to make me cry.
Paul has been very kind and supportive. Everyone who knows has been supportive but it still hurts and the twist of the knife was when the responsible party sent me an email thanking me for all I had done for him and wishing me all the best in my future endeavors.

Praying for you Kim and also had been praying for conviction for him. When I was having a hard time, a friend suggested that I go out back and throw eggs at trees. Never did it, but just the idea helped. A couple of times I dropped kids off at school and then just drove along screaming out my frustration and anger. Don’t keep it in!
