Prayer Requests 5-6-13

Who can we pray for today?

Psalm 29

1 Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength.

2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.

4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

5 The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

7 The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire.

8 The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

9 The voice of the Lord maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

10 The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever.

11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

  1. More wisdom on housing situation. Owners did not want a preempt, we now get to participate in a bidding war while our agent is on a two week vacation in Hawai’i.

    It’s all good.

  2. Prayers for you Michelle, and also for Pastor Roy in his job hunt.
Please continue to pray for my son with mono, he is going to try to go to work today. Please pray his one man crew can do all of the heavy lifting and that son will not over do it.

  3. Praying.

Also, I’m dealing with a bout of sadness or something … It’s generally been a difficult stretch these last few months with things at work all wacky and grim at the same time.

But then I got word that my first (well, 2nd, really, but first at a daily paper where I wound up basically staying in the same town) editor died this weekend. That sort of topped it all off, I guess. Or bottomed me out, which is probably a better way to say it.

Driving home from church last night this wave of sadness swept over me. One of those times when all the sadness and frustration and regrets and loss, going back for years, weirdly overtakes you.

And today I’ll probably have to pull together an obituary story on the editor. 😦 He was a fixture for many years in this town.

Prayers that if that is the case I’ll do a good job on it — and just prayer, too, that I’ll seek and find God’s solace and peace and emotional/mental/spiritual balance through this current mood.

  4. Prayers for all. Kare2012: I hope your son will be very careful. An enlarged spleen etc. is nothing to fool with, even though it cannot be seen. He needs to realize that he is not a wimp, but wise, to take care of himself. Of course, I know how they listen…

  5. Well my Darling Daughter sent me a text. She wanted to know if I ordered the shorts she wanted. I told her no, her dad was in charge of that.

  6. Prayers for all requests above.

The little neighbor boy for whom I requested prayer over the weekend is okay. Apparently it wasn’t a large amount of medicine he swallowed.

We saw 2nd Arrow yesterday, who is recovering from mono. She is feeling quite a bit better than she was when we saw her 8 days before that, and MUCH better than two weeks ago when she was hospitalized. She went back to school last week and it did not wear her down; quite the contrary, she hardly has any fatigue at all anymore. She thinks now that she had mono for a couple weeks before it was diagnosed; she was so tired, there was one time she carried her laundry basket upstairs and she was so exhausted, she felt weak and dizzy at the top of the stairs, and just had to go to bed. Fortunately, she is far beyond feeling like that now. She looked and sounded really good yesterday.

Thank you for the prayers. If you think of it, please pray for continued improvement as she goes back to work this week, and has finals next week.
