Prayer Requests 4-20-13

Who can we pray for today?

Or share a praise if you like. 🙂

Psalm 148:1-5

1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.

2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.

4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

5 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

  1. AnnMS, thank you for asking about my daughter. I texted her last night, and she responded this morning that she got worse yesterday and had to go back in. Turns out she does not have tonsillitis, but exudative pharyngitis. I have no idea what that is, but the penicillin she was taking does nothing for that. I’ll have to read up on that and find out more from my daughter. I know before she was having to be on a mostly or completely liquids/soft foods diet because of difficulty swallowing. Your prayers are appreciated.

  2. I was struck the other day by John Piper’s prayer when the fugitive bomber was at large after the MIT shooting: “My prayer for the running Boston bomber: Make his foot slip. Spare more victims. Save his soul.”

Yesterday he posted: “Two prayers answered. One to go.”

Pray for healing for all who suffered loss, injury and trauma through this horrifying ordeal. Pray that in the aftermath this event will not further divide our nation. Pray that justice will be done and that it will turn people to the living God.

  3. That is what I am praying for the three on the lam. One is supposed to return home today. She is in need of help, but we don’t know how. She has been living this way for twenty years or so.Only God can fix her needs.

  4. Amen. Thanks for your prayers for me and my work the other day. I got a lot done. Today I hope to finish–after spending the entire day with Oswald Chambers.

Maybe my book won’t be ready, but my halo should be shiny. 🙂

  5. We have a family prayer request I can’t go into here. Wisdom, insight and confidence as we creatively examine a problem to solve. We all want to work together to sort it out–that’s not the problem–but money is an issue. Sort of. 😦

  6. Well, according to T, D broke her glasses and jammed coat hangers in her locks so they are having a tough time getting it open. How she is going to get home, I don’t know. Hotel surveillance does show S being escorted through the hotel by a guard. Nobody knows why. But that would indicate she is not up at the mission getting rehab. So many lies. My gun is still loaded, the door is still locked and the Lord is my protector. I don’t think they will be back here. There must have been some seriously damaging stuff on the computer. Prayers for T to finally see the Truth. Prayers for S to be caught in her sins and lies so she will have to face them, same for D.

  7. Second Arrow is at the ER to get the swelling of her tonsils down and to get rehydrated. My sister-in-law, with whom she lives, will be calling later with an update.

  8. Sorry about the hospitalization. Oh, my.

Things are well at our house; a good writing day and what appears to be a good outcome with the family.

Of course my life is about be turned upside down yet again, but you’ll hear more about that (trust me!) when the big changes are more in motion. Why does anyone grow moss? 🙂

    Thanks for your prayers.

  9. My husband and I went to visit our daughter in the hospital. She will probably be discharged Monday morning. Please pray that she will be able to keep hydrated without pain. (Her throat hurt so much on Saturday that she couldn’t eat or drink anything without feeling like she was getting stabbed with a thousand needles all up and down her esophagus when she swallowed–her words. She said she’d never been in so much pain in her life–and this from the girl who fell and hit her head ice skating and got a concussion a couple years ago.)
