Prayer Requests 4-10-13

Who can we pray for today?

And it’s Wednesday, so please remember to pray for Gambia and those working there as well. 🙂

Psalm 121:1-5

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

  1. Prayers for safe travels for my husband and son. We have a severe weather alert in our area for several hours, during which time First Arrow will be coming home from work and hubby will be going to work. Thank you.

  2. Through a series of texts yesterday I told Mr. P all that was wrong in my world.
He told me I was just tired and cranky and to come home and sit in the (big leather club) chair with him and I would feel better.
    Condescending? Somewhat.
    Effective? Yes.

I did jokingly tell one of the two agents on my team that since he and the other guy both had iPads already, that made me the only one on the team without one and I thought they should pool their money and buy me one. He laughed and said as soon as he replaced the shattered screen on the one he has.

  3. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing people safely home when the weather is treacherous. Please be with 6 Arrows husband when it is his time to venture out again. Thank You for the protection of First Arrow. I pray that the people in their family can all be on the road to recovery from the coughing and congestion of their ailment. Please keep 6 Arrows well even as her turn to have the illness is rolling around. Help her to get more rest to build up her immune system. That is a tough request with all the coughing going on in the household. How can a mother rest through all that, Lord? But You are the great Provider so I ask and hope.

Thank You for being in the midst of all that Mumsee’s family goes through daily with challenges of children who have known really bad situations in their pasts. Please bring Your peace into the children’s hearts and help them to see Your purpose for their lives and how You have brought them to a better place for healing. Where there is pent up anger, I pray You will give a way of release that is productive and not destructive. Thank You that they are in an area where they can engage with the beauty and challenges of Your creation. May they replace memories of bad things with new memories of the love You give them in all Your creative ways. Please keep Mumsee and Mike healthy and strong. Encourage them through friendships and helps from those in their community. Help Mumsee as she tries to be a help to those neighbors with desperate situations. May the neighbors find the right programs that will bless them with recovery from addictions.

Lord, please help all who feel under threat from the situation with N. Korea. Many people have high anxiety and don’t know anything to do but worry. Help them to realize they need to turn to You. May the Holy Spirit draw them to You through the vehicle of their fear. Turn that fear into a good thing if possible. Thank You for the peace and hope that You give Christians throughout the world. We know Jesus has conquered death. You are victorious over death and evil. May You be glorified as You show Your strength in our times of weakness.

I pray in the blessed name of my Saviour, Jesus, who died and gave Himself so that I and others may have eternal life. Amen

  4. I have a request for a lady at church, Elaine, who is having micro-fracture surgery on her back on Monday. Please pray for success and a lessening of her pain.

And also for Pastor Bill as he continues to recover from a heart attack at home.

  5. Heavenly Father,

I pray for AJ’s church family members who are having physical afflictions at this time. May the pain that Elaine is experiencing lessen as the hours of the day go into the night. Keep her comfortable and able to rest. You know just what she needs under her present circumstances. Please go before her into the surgery arena and prepare her doctor, the staff and the environment for the best outcome that will be a permanent fix for her back trouble. May it all go smoothly and may people be able to remark afterwards that it was a tremendous success.

Please be with Pastor Bill in his recovery from the heart attack. Help those who are helping him. May he be able to rest without worry over all of his church responsibilities. Please provide for other leadership who he can feel good about knowing that all is in good hands, hearts and minds of Your choosing. Bless Pastor Bill with Your felt presence carrying him through the ordeal of following doctor’s instructions, meeting appointment times, following new diet plans, and adjusting to any new medications. Please give him a good attitude making him be the good example for his flock of how to respond in trials and tribulations.

Lord, I continue to lift up Kim to You for Your blessing in all the various ways she and her family need blessing. Thank You for her understanding husband. Help her to concentrate on her blessings even as she is worn out from trying to do all and be all. Thank You for the lovely setting that she and her husband get to enjoy so near to the beach. Clear her mind of any muddle and guide her into Your good plans for her.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen

  6. A quick praise report – The man selling Lee his route has also thrown in the truck in the deal. 🙂

(Usually, one has to buy the truck separately.)

  7. Good news, Karen O!

Prayers requested that I would be well enough to fly on Friday and that neither of my children come down with the flu. I’m doing significantly better today after starting antibiotics yesterday.

  8. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the changing seasons. We know a bit of Your power through the extremes of weather. Thank You that as the days grow hotter in the south that You made the tree leaves to come out and give shade.

Lord, I praise you for Karen O’s husband being blessed with the good deal on the truck + route. Sometimes You add a little something special just so we can know without a doubt that the blessing came through Your provision. We praise You for all the big and small ways You provide for us daily. Thank You especially for our everlasting daily bread available by reading Your word.

Thank You, Lord, for helping Annms to be getting over the bout with the flu and the secondary infection. Those antibiotics You allowed people to discover formulas for sure do knock out some of our infectious enemies. Thank You for the science behind those treatments and the smarts of those who developed them and for the business sense of those who brought them to market. And of course, Lord, that reminds me of another request. My brother is still looking for a position in pharmaceutical sales. I keep asking Lord and hoping the position that is right for his needs will soon be known to him.

Lord, please make a way for all to go smoothly for Annms to make her planned trip. Please keep her children well for the time she plans to be away. If they must be sick, please delay it, but I hope You will make it so they don’t even have to go through that illness.

Please hear our special prayers today for The Gambia. May Phos and Ajisuun experience joy today as they do their routine work. May they know of other Christians in the area with whom they can develop supporting friendships. Thank You for the increases in Phos’ knowledge of the language and people. I pray if anyone they know is hurting today either physically or emotionally that You will confront the pain with Your power as a force to overcome it. Please gift Phos and Ajisuun with healing words and touch for bringing comfort to those in their midst. May it bring knowledge to the people of how much You love them since You have brought these missionaries into their situations to help them. May the people see Christ in Phos and Ajisuun.

I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

  9. I am happy to report that one of the women I have been dealing with, the one who went to the shelter, is now checking herself into a faith based organization with a solid record for helping folks get off of meth and the rest. She will be there maybe two years. Keep praying for her as it is really difficult right now. She is not in the program yet and has almost used up her time in the shelter. So close….

  10. A while back, I mentioned that our cat, Peanut (almost 12 years old, & Chrissy’s special “baby”), has a lump of some sort growing on her hip. The vet said it seems to be attached to the muscle. Unfortunately, it would be way too expensive for us to have it removed & biopsied.

Even so, Peanut was doing just fine, jumping up on things as cats do, & still had a great appetite. But tonight, Peanut did not eat her dinner, & Chrissy said she’d been hiding out under her dresser all day.

Chrissy did let me pray for Peanut, when I asked if she’s like me to.

Please pray that God will minister His love to Chrissy through this situation.

  11. Heavenly Father,

Our pets give us unconditional love that in some ways gives comfort similar to what You give us. You loved us first, even before we showed that we had a heart that could turn and look to You with love. Please help the kitty Peanut to get to feeling better. I pray that it is only a minor problem causing the lack of appetite. Maybe just a hairball that needs some grass or other inexpensive treatment. Thank You that Peanut has not been hindered from being an active cat from the knot on the hip. Please let it just be a cyst that will go away on its own in time. Lord, You have Your divine ways to bring awareness of You and Your love. May Chrissy feel You active in some way in this situation with Peanut. May Chrissy recognize the love she has for Peanut is great but not as great as Your love for her. And may Chrissy know the hope of heaven and of seeing loved ones, even pets, there at that future time when all the believers are in reunion there. Please give comfort to Chrissy this evening as she worries over the health of Peanut. Thank You for considering all of our concerns and helping us through the difficult times of life. You are our great God who gives us hope for a good future both here on earth and in heaven. May Your will be done. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  12. Amen.

Please pray for me tomorrow. I need to talk to my boss about some of the stuff she brought up today and was stressing over. I want to clarify some facts for her, but I want to do it lovingly and tactfully.
    Thanks

  13. Thank you, Janice!

    From Kyle Ambrose, on Facebook…

“Please pray for my friend and former colleague, Jerry Krause. He is a pilot, and a plane he was flying along the west coast of Africa has gone missing. Various groups are searching. Pray for his wife, his children, and his parents during this heart-wrenching time.”

Also, for the young girl in this heartbreaking case, & the boys, too…

    http://www.courant.com/ktla-gang-rape-boys,0,3447941.story?obref=obnetwork

Not only was this little girl gang-raped, her family (Liberian immigrants) have rejected her for “dishonoring” her family.
