Prayer Requests 3-28-13

Who can we pray for today?

Mark 14:53-72

53 And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.

54 And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.

55 And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.

56 For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.

57 And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,

58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

59 But neither so did their witness agree together.

60 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

63 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

64 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

66 And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:

67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

68 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.

69 And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.

70 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.

71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.

72 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

  1. Prayers for the Nest as always. In addition, I received a late night phone call, four hours into my sleep, from one of my troubled friends. One of the people causing my other disturbed friend to flee to a shelter. Anyway, as she was talking, I noticed she was not talking in her usual late in the day slow drunk speech but was more like a squirrel. Sounds like she is dipping into meth or similar. She is in Christian counseling, I am trying to figure out how much to pester her counselor with these things. Wisdom, as always….

And protection as we are somewhat concerned that the boyfriend will retaliate here. He is quite dangerous and has been in and out of prison for violence and is back into meth and all.

  2. A niece raised as a Sikh will be joining us for Easter weekend. We have spent little time with her and this is an opportunity to get to know her. She’s 23 years old, a recent college graduate and living not far from here.

Please pray she’ll join us for the Easter cantata on Sunday to really hear what Christianity is about. Thanks.

  3. Heavenly Father,

Spring is bouncing all around today with the wind making the fresh green dance around in the yard. It is beautiful. Thank You for the brightness today that is such a contrast to the darkness that we acknowledge on Good Friday. Thank You that Jesus took on all the uncleanliness of sin on the cross and gave us a way to get all cleaned up, in Your way and in Your timing.

I pray for any here on this site who have not felt that feeling of being all cleansed from their past sins and even from their future sins. Please make a way for them real soon to be included among Your adopted children. I pray for Michelle’s neice to be willing to attend the cantata service. May she and all the unbeliever’s in the midst hear just the right words to create curiosity to learn more. Open a pathway into her heart for Michelle to express the gospel in a compelling way to her. May she in no way feel beaten down by the message and the weight of her sinfulness except that she sees the joy on the otherside of letting Jesus take that burden from her.

Please bless annms and her loved ones with safe travels for this special time. I pray they will have good weather and no mishaps to and from. May they have divine encounters with people who are in tune with You.

Lord, please continue to bless the Nest that Mumsee and her husband have so lovingly pieced together for those in their care. Give them peace through contentment with Your provision. Help them as needs arise hour by hour. I pray for Mumsee to daily have a time of refreshing from You so she does not burnout. Thank You for making her be a good delegator who is skilled in seeing what needs doing and which child is up for the challenge of the task. Please help her to always be consistent in discipline and to be recognized and respected by the children for her fairness and wisdom. I pray that when help is needed from outside the home that the right person will be there for them. Please help the young man who has been struggling with not being good enough to be a Christian to see the light that it is only Christ who is good enough and He makes the way for us not because of anything we can do ourselves.

I pray for Mumsee’s troubled friend. May her counselor be able to determine just what is going on.I pray Mumsee does not have to included in the situation more than is basically necessary since Mumsee already has much to be about in doing Your business with her flock. Again, I ask that You would reenergize Mumsee because she gave up sleep to help a friend in need.

Please keep our land at peace, Lord, even as it sometimes seems people are ripe for disruption because our government is not being transparent and is giving away our nation’s resources to people who would seemingly wish to do us harm. I do not understand what all I hear and oftentimes tune it out, Lord. Even so, the distrust of officials in our government is so strong. I pray for a return of honesty and justice to our land along with full acknowledgement that You are our greatest authority. I pray for higher up officials to no longer look at themselves as the greatest lords over the rest of us but to recognize the Lord, Jesus Christ, as the One true God who has always been in place as the Lord of lords. I praise You in looking forward to the day when every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord! Amen
