🙂 Going to the garden show! I need something fresh and green to look at
🙂 The place where we dug the semi out is now drifted full of snow. If we hadn’t had a big dug out spot in that snow pile, our driveway would have been drifted in.
😦 Those who make fb difficult to enjoy, because they want to argue to death anything you post. Some turn everything into a political comment, no matter how much they have to reach to do it. Some insult you continually by what they post, but no matter how much you ignore them, they pounce on your posts. Yes, some can be unfriended, but there are reasons not to do that. For others the fall out from unfriending could make quite an unpleasant stir.
🙂 Those God put in my life to ground off all those rough edges and remind me how much I need The Holy Spirit to help me love more and develope all the other fruits of the Spirit. Isn’t God clever?
😦 The tax man cometh. Today’s the day I gather everything up and head in to drop it all off.
😦 After that, I head over to the cable company to beg & plead with them to put me on another 6-month special “deal” (my current one expires as of April) as their prices seem to have zoomed up for those of us who have been with the company for a while. My other option is switching to AT&T which offers much lower rates for the first 2 years (although someone says their internet connection is slow which would be a significant downside for me) or just canceling the TV portion of my cable service for the time being. I’d miss it, pretty much the only TV I ever watch is the cable stations. But I’d probably learn I can survive without it. 😉
🙂 It seems to be spring out here. Lots of green grass and brightly colored flowers everywhere.
😦 My yard really needs weeding. And some new flowers planted in the narrow garden strip that is alongside the front steps leading up to my porch.
🙂 😦 break nearly over.
🙂 The Kid’s first baseball game Monday.
He likes first base and will not be happy if he is put somewhere else. He has played it so often he knows what he’s doing there. I tell him the more different positions he can play the more valuable he is to the team.
🙂 A great visit to Nashville and Alabama. I hadn’t seen my sister’s new mini-farm and hadn’t seen her or her family since our wedding, so that was great. And it was wonderful to visit, and worship with, my Nashville friends.
🙂 Got to see cormorants, wild pelicans, and courting turkeys.
🙂 My sister and I both had special gifts for each other’s families.
🙂 My sister’s family loved my husband. (They didn’t get much chance to get to know him before we got married–they drove over for the shower and the wedding, but both times were limited contact and with lots of other people around.)
🙂 We’re back home in our own bed. (Full-size beds aren’t really big enough for a man who is over six feet and his wife.)
🙂 I’m very busy with work, which means some nice income coming in after a dry spell.
😦 Another snowstorm due tomorrow. This time last year we had an early spring already.
🙂 Spent the afternoon making taco casseroles — one for the mission that I’ll take to church tomorrow, the other for me … lunches & dinners for the week ahead (although I tend to grow weary quickly of left-overs).
😦 I never heard of the “True Colors” conference, but kind of figured out what it was even before I googled it. 😦
😦 Ordered “Brave” to watch tonight on TV, but for some reason it’s not letting me play it, it just says “check again later.” So maybe I’ll go check again. 🙂
🙂 Heading to the big(ger) city today.

🙂 That last sentence
😦 Icy roads for the trip
🙂 All wheel drive

🙂 The peaceful sound of a purring cat, curled up behind me in a blanket on the back of the sofa.
Cats are funny. They always like to be up high — preferably high enough so that they can look “down” on everything and everyone else in their domain.

If you can’t be a pitcher or catcher, everyone wan’ts first base because that’s where the action is.

A beautiful sunshiny day, with snow flakes coming down, big and fluffy. Must be spring!

😦 This weekend, Chrissy & some of her friends are attending the True Colors Conference at UConn.
🙂 But I know that even in that, God can minister His truth & love to her spirit.
😦 Realizing that Emily has very much rejected her Christian upbringing.
🙂 But God can get through to her anyway, & soften her hard heart. (Typing this with more faith than feeling, I admit.)
