“After Tiller”

“After Tiller” is the new film from pro-abortion supporters. Not surprisingly, Hollywood just loved it. Also not surprisingly the film seeks to glorify the work of late-term abortionists while vilifying pro-lifers. Though the film claims to be calm in tone and non-political, it appears to be anything but.

From Brent Bozell, via CNSNews

“Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival featured a documentary  celebrating four “amazing” abortionists who evacuate wombs in the third  trimester of pregnancy. The critics in attendance loved it. The  Philadelphia Inquirer boasted it drew “two standing ovations — one for  the doctors.”

Sundance attendees in Utah were greeted by police  and armed sheriffs in green jumpsuits that made a show of force outside  the theater. They had to have their bags searched and were inspected  with handheld metal detectors. After the movie was shown, two police  officers stood at the front of the auditorium as the directors and the  four abortionists featured in the film answered audience questions.”

“The film also stars Dr. Warren  Hern, who is perpetually bombastic and coarse. He says in the trailer,  “When I walk out the front door, I expect to be assassinated.” The Daily  Beast put this Hern quote in large type: “When abortion doctors are  assassinated, the political right has celebrated those assassinations.  It’s a very serious and dark matter in American society.”

The Bozell piece mentions the response and glowing admiration from supporters over at TheDailyBeast.

They chose to lead with an inflammatory quote from one of the abortionists, after they jumped right in with some of their own.

After Tiller, the Sundance documentary named after the physician gunned down in 2009, follows the four doctors in America who still perform third-trimester abortions. Marlow Stern speaks with three of the doctors about the abortion battle, and their fanatical foes.

“We’re 40 years after Roe v. Wade, and the women in America are in worse shape than they were 40 years ago. Their rights are being trampled in the street.

Vilifying your opponents in coarse and crude language isn’t really surprising from these folks I suppose. After all, what they are advocating requires the supporter to be coarse. How else do you do what they do, and advocate for what they are here? This is late term abortion here. These are abortions of children who in some cases could survive on their own, even more could with medical intervention. Coarseness and a disregard for life go hand in hand with these people. Yet we’re labeled the terrorists and fanatics. Only in Hollywood could you find a script so bizarre, or people who would cheerlead and applaud such nonsense.

  1. Most of you here know that I am a peacemaker and non argumentative but this is just sick. I want to know just WHO chooses to have a late term abortion. The only person I have known who NEEDED a late term abortion waited until the last moment to make the decision, the doctors performed test after test to see if there was any hope for the baby, and the mother chose to be induced, go through labor, wide awake, and have the chance to hold her daughter just once before she had to bury her.

These are the same people who want to take away my right to own a gun because guns kill people yet guns haven’t killed as many people as these abortionists have.
    Sick and depraved.

  2. Kim, these are also (in many cases) the same people too squeamish to execute mass murderers. Just babies.

When I first saw this story, my only question was really, how hard would it have been for God to send a strategic bolt of lightning and take care of all of them at once? Surely He is a longsuffering God.

  3. Until recently abortion stories on TV usually ended with the mother acknowledging the “right to choice” but choosing to keep their own baby. Even now it is seldom a major or sympathetic character who goes through with it. There is also the miscarriage cop out. This shows that even Hollywood knows there is something wrong about abortion.

  4. Cheryl: I couldn’t help but think of Luke 9:54 and Mark 3:17. God’s ways are indeed not our ways and without His patience where would WE be? God help those who believe that film and what it represents is something to be applauded. They are most to be pitied.
