What should we pray about today?
Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
And please continue to pray for those dealing with the storm aftermath.

Update on prayer request from Oct. 22 regarding financial situation:
I mentioned we needed to get $1400 together by the end of this coming January. Yesterday, our neighbor, who is headed to New York to help with the storm cleanup, asked my husband to help keep his family supplied with wood to use in their outdoor wood burner. He will be paying my husband $1000 (in installments of undetermined amounts at unknown intervals) for the wood and his service to our neighbor’s family in his absence.
We praise the Lord for His providence in this matter, and ask for continued prayers that we would trust in Him as he provides according to His perfect will and timing. Thank you.

Yes, he’s now good until he’s 50. Hopefully, they will change the rules and allow him a little more time then. And we have been thanking God all day!

Here’s a really neat answer to prayer. Son’s fiancé adopted a Jack Russell Terrier, Benny, last summer. Last month she found a new place to live, more convenient to her work and where they can both live after the get married in April. New place does not allow pets. Son’s place does but charges a high pet-fee and he, not being a dog person, was pretty stressed about caring for him. It was a hard decision but they prayed about it together and decided to let him go. The place the got him from doesn’t take them back but does host adoption events so you take the dog there and hope that someone else will adopt him. Their event was scheduled for this past Sunday and they prayed about that, too. On Saturday they took him with them to Pet Smart. After shopping, they were sitting outside on a ledge enjoying the sunshine and an older couple walked up to them and said “Is that Benson? We’ve been reviewing the website for the adoption event tomorrow and recognize him from his picture.” They ended up visiting with Benny on for a while, decided they loved him, and went to the adoption on Sunday and took him. I find this absolutely incredible – this is no small town, it’s Reston Virginia. If that wasn’t an answer to prayer, I don’t know what is.
