Prayer Requests 10-27-12

What should we pray about today?

Psalm 119:89-91

89 Your word, Lord, is eternal;
it stands firm in the heavens.
90 Your faithfulness continues through all generations;
you established the earth, and it endures.
91 Your laws endure to this day,
    for all things serve you.

  1. Thank you for your prayers for my father yesterday. I have not heard back from my family on how he is doing. He was supposed to be discharged yesterday evening. I figure no news is good news. I also figure he’s keeping everyone busy, and that they are too worn out to call…

  2. Glad to hear “no news is good news,” MIM.

Our son was feeling better from his cold last night when I spoke to him. He also seemed like his stress level was down in regards to his school assignments. Thanks for praying.

Please lift up this group of ladies I will be attending the play with today. It is a nice outing for us all. Pray all can be feeling good and thoroughly enjoy the production. Also, please pray for an uneventful trip to and from since it is out of town. Thank you so much for praying over these little things as well as the major things.

  3. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the opportunity to come before You with our prayers and petitions. Please bless Tychicus today as he gives his message to those going out on the mission field. May many hearts be turned to You from his efforts.

I lift up MIM’s dad for Your blessing of better health. Please also bless all those who are his support with good health and good spirits.

Please help Pauline with her affliction causing the difficulty with smells. You know, Lord, what she needs to get over that. Help her family to deal with the flea situation that is so aggravating. May they quickly find the solution. And help her as she prepares for teaching the Sunday School class. Give her insight and creativity to come up with just the right lesson for the children in her class.

I pray for all of our friends and relatives that need to know Jesus as Lord of their lives. Open their hearts today to the message of good news about Christ that is meant for them. Do not let them remain blinded to the most important thing in their lives.

Please keep our nation safe during this turbulant time. May the election have perfect results according to Your will. Of course, I pray for a transition in our government, and I pray all will be accepting and not resort to rioting or violence if the election results do not go as they would prefer.

In Jesus’ name I pray, recognizing You as our ultimate authority, and hopeful once more that we can have that secure feeling that we are without a doubt One Nation Under God. Amen

  4. Praise: we are seeing a change in younger new boy. He is becoming willing to work on school work and chores that are given to him. He has always been willing if he selects them. Putting himself under authority is a big step forward.

Prayer: that we would continue to hold him to it and he would be willing to try and to ask for help when needed, not just because he wants it.

  5. Please pray for wisdom for my husband and me as we deal with behavioral issues with one of our children. My husband and I are not on the same page with each other regarding how to handle those issues, and I am having great difficulty honoring my husband in this matter.

  6. Father, thank You that You know our needs better than we do. Please give wisdom to those who ask. Six Arrows and Karen both need it. Thank You that You do give wisdom as You are Truth.

  7. We request prayer today as the bio grandmother of our first three adoptees is coming for a visit. They plan to arrive today and leave tomorrow. One child is excited about the visit, the other two are not. They don’t know why and we understand there are a lot of possibilities for reasons. We want to be rock solid for them and yet give them a chance to relate with her.

  8. Praying for all the request here.

Please pray for my husband as he trains for his third try at passing his physical requirements test for his job. It’s the same fitness test that most other police forces in Canada require, however, they all allow for more time as an officer ages. The agency hubby works for says it must be done in 4 minutes flat regardless of age. This is weighing heavily on his mind and body for the last couple of months and Thursday, Nov 1, he is attempting it again on his own dime so that he won’t lose his job if he doesn’t make it. If he passes they will pay for this one and he will be good for another 3 years.

  9. Oh, my husband is a long distance runner and would be able to outrun most people, if not in speed, in longevity so he is very fit, just not as quick as he ‘should’ be.

  10. Lord, thank You for the people you have gathered together on this site. Thank You that we are willing and able to lift each other up to You in prayer. Thank You that You hear us. Thank You for Kare joining us and the contributions she makes to the building up of the Body. We ask that You be with her husband as he tries to do his part to see to his employment and the requirements. It is tough as we age to keep the body working right, but You know all about that and You know what You want him doing. Please bless his efforts and give his family supportive attitudes toward his efforts. Thank You for people who love You in the police and other security forces. Give them the confidence to serve You in their work. Thank You in Jesus’ Name.

  11. Thank ya’ll for the prayers for our missions day – it all went very well. Now we need to prepare for tomorrow’s service, and after that I hope to be able to focus on my wife, who has her birthday today.

  12. Mumsee, I’d like to say “Her loss”, but I know this must have a negative effect on the children. So very sad. May God comfort them, & bind their hearts closer to you & closer to Him.

  13. Heavenly Father,

Some days just require more prayer than other days. This is one of those times. Please spare our brothers and sisters in Christ, our friends here, and their families, and other loved ones, from the disaster that this storm may cause. I remember Kbells is one who has already suffered from such a disaster. Thank You for keeping her family safe. It seems that this could hardly come at a worse time for our nation. We do not know the big picture of what the storm may be sparing us from if terrorists had plotted some evil greater than the damage this storm can cause. We trust in You to take care of people, especially in saving lives that may be in danger. We know possessions hold value, but nothing to compare with life. Abba, these are Your children who love You and honor You in their daily living that I am lifting up to You for protection. Keep them safe, please. May they not forget to call on You in times of trouble. Please be their ready help.

Thank You, Lord, for making it be a good day for the outing with my older lady friends. They were all well for today! Praise You for Your favorable response to prayers. And thank You for good news from Tychicus, Mumsee and KarenO. Sometimes You even answer before we have a chance to ask! You are so great!

I do pray for kare2012’s husband to pass that grueling physical exam that seems to require superhuman ability. Lord, I ask that for the time of the exam You would empower him, supercharge his ability, and make a way for him to excel to the required level. I pray there will be no hindrances to a most excellent performance on the test. I know if it is Your will, that You have a way to make it happen.

I also pray for 6 Arrows and her husband to have a feeling of harmony and cohesiveness in their decisions over how to address the needs of their child. Please give them clearheadedness as they consider the behavior and the after effects of each course of correction they could pursue. If they continue to not see eye to eye I pray You will supply informal or formal counseling to help them be in agreement. Lord, sometimes Christian writers have covered subjects in their books that might be helpful in cases like this. Please provide the answers they need to help them move toward peace.

I pray for Karen O’s daughter Emily to get the legally-binding custody agreement that will be straightforward in wording so nothing is left to discuss as to who can do what when. I pray for a settling of emotions on both sides and for Your peace to overcome any disputes that try to become habitual ways of dealing with this situation. Please let the care from KarenO and her husband compensate for any negative encounters with the angry dad.

Lord, sometimes it seems our prayer requests become like mountains, and yet, You are so much bigger than what we request. I wait on You to answer in Your time and way knowing You always know best. We cast our cares on You for we know that You care for us. I pray in the blessed name of Jesus, Amen

  14. Follow-up to my post on October 27, 2012 at 10:59 am above:

Progress on the home front. Above-mentioned child had more issues today, but he met up with two parents who stood together and firm. He will learn.

Thank you again for the prayers.
