What should we pray about today?
Psalm 103:19-22
19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, my soul.
Pray for our medical missionaries. The local staff of the clinic are on the verge of revolt. They are reacting negatively to the new missionary supervisors and some of the changes that are coming to the clinic. Pray that the missionaries will have wisdom to know how to best deal with bringing about change. Also pray that there would be some staff members who will have calm heads and hearts. Pray that God’s will would be done. If some of the staff needs to go in order for peace to prevail than so be it. It’s a difficult situation.

Please continue to pray for my son with his chest cold. I contacted his doctor’s office and found out he has aged out of that office so I can not get an inhaler refill for him. His inhaler has expired. I hope he won’t need it, but he has not had a chest cold in quite some time so I don’t know. Also, he is suppose to have part of a big project due today. Pray it will all work out for him. Thank you for taking it to the Lord as you think of us.
I also ask for prayers for Linda who recently had intestinal surgery for a blockage related to former cancer surgery/treatments. She was in ICU for a bit after surgery but now is in a regular room trying to get mobile again.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for again hearing us voice our concerns over people and situations that we know You are already aware of. You are good to make orderly progression in situations where people only muddle in confusion. In particular, I lift up the medical clinic in The Gambia. People there are not looking at the whole picture through the eyes of leadership. I pray You would open eyes to see the benefits of changes and what it will look like under some new rules and supervision. Let them realize the treatment of patients can be positively transformed by these changes. Give the leadership of the mission a way to clearly present the new roles of people so they are not feeling any loss of responsibility or importance in the jobs they perform. May it be shown precisely how the patients will benefit and that without the cooperation of the team that the patients are the ones who will be hurt. I pray that those who are uncooperative and bucking the system will be rooted out and that replacements can quickly be recruited and trained. May they be highly dedicated. Please, Lord, act quickly to bring resolution to this need in the medical clinic. Your power to restore broken systems is required as we call out to You, “Help!” We trust in Your provision to come. In the name of Jesus, Amen

Please pray for my friend, Jennifer. Jenn has been suffering for the past 5 years due to a botched surgery that lead to other surgeries (stomach/bowel related). She’s had 10 surgeries, at least one or 2 of those after being told her stomach is so messed up that she should have no more surgeries.
She has stomach pain every day, often severe, & cannot eat real food. Over the past 5 years, she & her husband had to sell their house to pay medical bills. (I don’t know why they weren’t able to sue for malpractice.) They then rented the house next to her parents (also friends of ours), & got a dog, whom Jenn adores.
Then the owner of the house sold it, so now Jenn, her husband Rich, & their 2 teens, live with her parents. (One of the reasons is so Jenn can keep the dog. With all she’s been through, it would break her heart to have to give him up.)
Jenn & her parents are believers. Jenn has the most positive, grateful-for-her-life attitudes I’ve ever seen. But she would really love God to grant her a miracle.

Also, today being Forrest’s 2nd birthday (can you believe it?), please pray that God would give him a heart that beats for Him, & a spirit of discernment & wisdom, & the gift of faith. (Saved parents would be nice, too.)

Emily & Forrest just got back from his 2-yr. check-up. Turns out he has an ear infection. No wonder he was so cranky last night.

Karen, your friend’s problems sound similar to what Linda has experienced. I am sorry to hear that it was a rough night last night with Forrest. I hope the medicine for the ear infection will clear it up and he will be a sweet, adorable boy again real soon.
Heavenly Father,
I ask Your blessing to be upon Forrest for his second birthday and forwad. Show him Your favor by giving him much to smile about, and may anything that brings tears be only things that are good learning experiences. May his minor frustrations with learning new skills quickly resolve into proud accomplishments. Please help him to quickly get over any illnesses such as the ear infection he has now. Give him a sweet spirit that is open to receiving news about Jesus. May he grow in wisdom and be sturdy in his physical being. I pray he will have good relationships with other children as he grows older. May his parents have a spark of interest in the Christian faith that they will decide would be good to check out. I pray for Forrest in time to develop Christian connections perhaps through a preschool. Thank You for giving him Karen and her husband as primary resources to help in developing his spiritual life. Thank You for Your care for him always. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Heavenly Father,
Please ease the discomforts Jenn (KarenO’s friend) and Linda (my friend) are having due to problems with their digestive tracts. May they find a way to healing permanently so they do not continue to have to be on unusual diets and special medications. You know, Lord, exactly what they need and also how hard it is on their husbands and families to support them in these difficult situations. I know You will work in Your own time frame, Lord, in healing them if it is Your will, but I do ask, if possible that it would be soon! In Jesus’ name, Amen
