Prayer Requests 10-2-12

I was reading this earlier, just wanted to share it.

It’s 2 Corinthians 1:1 thru 1:11, here’s a link to the text.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“(3)Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, (4) who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

  1. An accident in the area killed a family of three. The child is reported to have been under the age of two. Apparently is was caused by robbery suspects fleeing the scene of the crime.

  2. Heavenly Father, You have blessed us with another day in which to rejoice and be glad within. Thank You. I pray for Baby Girl who seems to be under the weather. Please help her to quickly get over her ailment. I know she wants to be fully there for her mother’s wedding. Please keep Kim and Mr. P well, too. I remember Kim was sick for her first wedding and once was enough of that, Lord. You are the One Who has remedies beyond what we are aware of for the sick and ailing. If it is Your will, Lord, I pray for this illness to be gone today and for complete good health and well-being to replace it. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  3. Heavenly Father, I pray for the relatives and friends of the family Kbells has mentioned. I pray the family was a part of a church community so they can have a true Christian funeral with all the peace that brings. May those who perpetrated the crime be found and brought to justice. It especially hurts when a child so young loses its life. Yet, the thought of the family all being in heaven right now with Jesus lightens the blow to our emotions. I pray for all who resort to robbery and taking of innocent lives to have a change of heart. I pray for the ministries that reach out to them to have success in turning hearts to You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. Please pray everything will fall into place with the article I am putting together. I am always so slow to start a serious endeavor that I have little experience with. Thank you for praying. I want to get it right for God’s glory and to benefit those who do not yet know Jesus.

  6. Lord, thank you for Janice and her fine example on here, her willingness to teach us how to pray in the written word. Please give her the words to write in the article, so she will bring glory to you through her words and actions. Point people to you through it. Give her heart peace as she knows she is being lifted up and you are holding her in your hand. Thank you for your love for your people. In the Name of Jesus.

  7. Received this prayer request through our church regarding an Idaho family whose son remains (after 3 years) a POW of the Taliban:

We just received the following message from the Committee on Chaplains and Military Personnel:

“In light of certain recent political developments, it appears that the negotiations for SGT Bowe Bergdahl’s release by the Taliban are ongoing, with assurances for Bowe’s safety being made recently by the Taliban leadership. (SGT Bergdahl is a covenant son of the OPC.)

Please pray for God’s continued protection over him, and for his soon release.

  8. Thanks for praying for me. I am making small steps toward the goal.

    Heavenly Father,

I read the article Donna linked to and learned about this special young man who is being held by enemy forces. I pray Your blessings will filter through the ones who hold him captive so that not only is he blessed but that those who watch over him will have their hearts turned to know Jesus. Please bless the parents, family and friends of Bowe with the ability to trust in You to make it all turn out okay. I pray You will keep his spirits uplifted and may he be a good example to all of an American citizen. Please do not let him fall under the authority of anyone who would torture or abuse him in any manner. I pray he is well-fed and gets medical treatment when needed. May his family rejoice upon his return and give glory to You for the release of this one held against his will. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  9. Thank you for all those who pray for my family. A couple nights ago, Emily told me that she & Ryan are no longer “in a relationship”. She has been spending nights here for the past week or so, she has seemed happier, & we all are getting along better. 🙂

I will admit that I am being cautiously optimistic about this. Ryan is currently working 7 days a week, temporarily (the business requires this every now & then), so it is possible that this is why she has been here & not there at night. But I’m really hoping this is a permanent change in her life & demeanor.

  10. Det. Perez had surgery to remove blood clots in his leg today. He was being slowly taken off sedation, and had recognized and communicated with family members, but the doctors decided to put him back under today.

There haven’t been any reports about Sgt. Johnson’s progress since he went home from the hospital.

There was a fund raiser for both deputies at a local restaurant yesterday, but again Sgt Johnson chose to have all the money go to Det. Perez because, with two kids in college, he has a greater financial burden.

  11. Karen, I was glad to see your news about Emily today, but I think you are right to be cautious. Only time will tell if the relationship is truly over. As Forrest’s father, Ryan will always be in the picture, we can only pray that his influence over her become negligible and she returns to the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.

  12. Thank you, Kay. And thanks for the continued updates on the officers.

Emily was just telling us today that when Forrest wakes up in the morning, he asks for his Papa, which is his name for my husband. Forrest adores his Papa!

Although it is a little sad that he doesn’t wake up asking for his Daddy, we are so glad that Lee can be a godly male influence in Forrest’s life.

  13. Karen, I’m glad to hear things appear to be moving in a good direction. I pray that God continue to give you peace even when you hit the occasional speed bump.
