“I love the Lord, for He heard my voice;
He heard my cry for mercy.
Because He turned His ear to me,
I will call on Him as long as I live.”

Please pray that God will be glorified in our family situation, & each of us as individuals, including Forrest & his father. And for added wisdom & insight for my husband Lee & me. Thank you.

I would ask that you please pray for me this week. As I have said I am not afraid to BE married, but I am terrified of GETTING married.
Also I want this to be a Godly marriage and the last one I have.

Please pray for my husband as he faces numerous workplace stresses that have been multiplying over the years and that have gotten him very discouraged in recent months. The stress of these, combined with the stress of the battle with an uncooperative institution which our family must deal with that has been going on the last few months is really wearing my husband down.
Please also pray that I would be an effective, God-honoring helpmeet to my husband, that I may help to relieve his stress to the extent that is possible, and that I may rally our children to be as helpful as they can be, also, to help relieve some of the burdens on their dad.

Heavenly Father,
I lift up to You Karen O’s family which has struggled for so long with difficulties surrounding the beliefs of the young family members who choose to not walk the Christian path. Lord, You are aware of all the circumstances, the whole tangle of thoughts and feelings that generate discomfort and a lack of peace between the family members. Lord, I see how much Karen O wants harmony within her family and good influences upon her grandson, Forrest. I pray each day will bring them all forward one step at a time to a peaceful resting in You and faith in Jesus. I pray for Emily to see Your hand of creation in nature. I pray You will turn what has been a bad situation for good because Karen O loves You and desires to glorify You through the trials and tribulations of their family situation. Please, Lord, make a clear way through the darkness and let them all come out strengthened in glorifying faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Heavenly Father,
I lift up Kim and her spouse-to-be for Your kind blessing during this special time as they prepare for the wedding and married life. Kim is doing all she can to make the wedding ceremony and celebration a relaxed and unstressful event. I pray that everything will go extra smoothly and that she will feel Your peace come over her at any times that she feels stressed over anything minor or major. I pray for Your blessing over their marriage that it will be always honoring You, appreciating You, bearing Your image through this one flesh union, and radiating joy and peace as an example for other couples within the church and community. Please, may BG also feel blessed by this marriage and relate well with all her new relatives. Thank You, Lord, for making this into a forevermore marriage not to be torn asunder by any force on earth for You have made this holy union. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen

Heavenly Father,
Again, I come to You through Jesus, lifting up another family in need this day. I pray for 6 Arrows family as they are trying to live faithful lives to You and serve one another as You would have them to do. Help them each to find their niche of support during this stressful time. Please give the children a willingness to pitch in and make the load lighter for their parents. Guide them to be cooperative and ready to quickly assist when it is their time to do so. Help them to not be reluctant when needs arise. I pray for 6 Arrow’s husband to receive refreshing insights into his situation so he is not so bogged down in his thoughts about what has transpired. May You bless him with new angles of vision and new solutions that could only come from Your divine vision. I pray for those in authority within the bothersome institution to get a new attitude. Lord, You can make a way if You so desire. Please, pull 6 Arrow’s husband out of the mire he feels himself to be caught up in. Thank You, Lord, for Your actions as You work toward a saving plan for this family’s needs. In the name of Jesus, Amen

6 Arrows, I think we honor God by our prayers that show faith that He is able to accomplish what we ask or even more than we ask. He does not do exactly what we ask much of the time, but He hears our concerns and I think He considers what to do about them. He loves us and knows best so we have to keep trusting that in His time and in His way He will do what is best for us.
My husband and I are at work right now. It is pouring rain and we have a tornado watch. Our house needs to be reroofed. Please pray that we won’t have leaks when we get home. Also, please pray that I can figure out what to do about getting the roofing work done. Also, please pray that with this weather we can have a safe drive home. Thanks.

Janice, I wish I prayed like you do. Most of my prayers consist of telling God “you know why I am praying…please help me or please help Janice. Yours have a beauty to them that mine lack. Thank you!

Prayers for all the needs expressed here.
Janice, one of my favorite verses about approaching the Lord in prayer is a verse a friend of mine reminded me of when I was pregnant with 5th Arrow and was concerned that I might need a C-section. She reminded me of Hebrews 4:16 — “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
I thought of that verse often as I prayed over that situation (and many others in the future, also). And it was one of the times, as you say, that God accomplished even more than we asked. Not only did I not need a caesarean, but my son was in such a position (not breech or in a transverse lie, as he had been before) that I had my fastest and easiest birth with him.

Thanks for praying safety for our trip home. We waited until the rain was not so heavy and then left and it was before dark so I could see better than sometimes. We made it safely. There are not any leaks so far, and I hope that will hold even though it is pouring again. I am not sure where all the rain came from. I have not kept up with the news so much lately so maybe there was another hurricaine that brought this rain?
6 Arrows, that Hebrews verse was the focus of the prayer retreat I went on a few weekends ago. The theme was taking things to God’s throne room and there was a large decorated throne as a prop for much of the main program. At the ending session we were all given a piece of paper with the picture of a crown on it and we were to write down anything we needed to lay down at God’s thrown to let Him deal with. It was very moving. Also, one thing I picked up and had not really thought about before is how His throne room can be anywhere (physical location)we are in our times of prayer.

I have not always prayed as I do now. I have spent lots of time on prayer sites reading the prayers of others and digesting what I was reading. Prayercentral was one site where I originally signed up to do Bahgdad Prayer Patrol. Someone at my son’s homeschool band sent a request to pray for the troops because her son was over there. Lots of people were praying and that helped me learn how to pray. Also, the Presidential Prayer Team which was set up when Bush was in office had lots of helps for learning to pray more in depth. If you look at the Prayer Wall at http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org you will see a variety of prayers. It is a conservative site even though our current President is liberal. Anyway, my main point is that it is a process learning to pray more in depth. And I really do better in writing than aloud.

News has come in that all of my children are now safely back in the States. That would be a praise even though I understand it is more dangerous to be a young person in the States than in a war zone due to driving accidents and such. But both sons are with their wives and that is a good thing.
