This is the place for prayers. Say one, leave a request, or an update, or find someone to pray for.
Requests to the Lord on behalf of others is one of the kindest things we can do for each other. And it’s such a simple thing to do.
Thank you to all who do.
I don’t know how I missed hearing about Darby. It’s a sad thing. Amen to Janice’s prayer.

Please pray for a young lady, Leigh (not her real name), who, in addition to being very shy & somewhat awkward, is confused about her sexuality. She is a Christian, but struggling in her faith, I believe. Please pray God would stir up in her spirit a deeper faith in & love for Him, & a deeper sense/realization of her femininity.
Thank you.

Heavenly Father, I pray for Your dear child, Nicole, who has such a great faith in You that is sustaining her through this time of recouperation from surgery and through the fear of chemo which is known to act as poison in the body as it cancels out the cancer. I pray Lord that her body chemistry is such that she will have a lesser degree of harm to her body while the cancer is totally struck out. Lord, we are to find something to praise in all things so I praise You for making Nicole’s beautiful witness of sustaining faith through adversity. Thank You for Christian love that carries her gently, lightly, and snugly by the intertwining cords of prayer reaching up to You on her behalf. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Please pray for my youngest daughter, Becca. She is having difficulty with kids in her class being mean to her. She’s always loved school and now she doesn’t want to go. I’ve contacted her teacher for help. Please pray she would make some good friends. Thanks.

Heavenly Father, I pray for Karen’s request for the young lady who is having difficulty in accepting herself as You made her to be in the area of her sexuality. So often in our society the young are pushed toward thinking themselves to be outside of Your plan for their sexuality. They are actually cheered on to claim they are of an alternative orientation. Lord, I ask that whatever forces are coming against her in the spiritual realm, putting wrong thoughts about herself in her head, would be defeated by the power of Your word and truth. Lord, You know how I recently heard that at my alma mater’s orientation for new college students that they were asked to raise their hands if they were gay, etc. so they could be recognized and applauded. For the vulnerable who are seeking affirmation, the temptation is great for that kind of acceptance. Please, Lord, forgive our complacency in allowing it to come to this. We all know young people who have been adversely affected by such shenanigans of those who act as agents of destruction of purity. I pray, Lord, for all the falsejhoods to stop being forced into the lives of our young about alternative lifestyles. Please make the young to come into belief that they are made in Your divine image and that they can follow in Your plan for their future as You made them to be . I am also reminded of the WMB poster who we called Frankie who seemed to have confusion like this. Please, Lord, bring them to know Your truth today. Help us to know how we might help these young people. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Amen and amen.
Janice also reminds us of the very personal impact our society’s newfound embrace/celebration of same-sex relationships has on young people who are so vulnerable. It reaches far beyond the mere theoretical.

Heavenly Father, Sometimes in school situations it seems children face such meaness from peers as Becca is knowing lately. I pray You will open her eyes to see those around her who are in need of her friendship. I pray for whatever harassment she is feeling from certain children would stop. She is in school for an education and not for an all too realistic lesson in being the victim of bullies. May she never feel alone in the face of intimidation for You are with her. May she feel Your strength when she feels weak. Please, Lord, act mightily in her behalf against the foes and bring into her life new friends, good friends, friends who love You. IJN

Janice – Thanks for the prayers for Becca. She is a dear little girl who is feeling excluded by her peers. It broke my heart to hear her cry and ask why kids are so mean last night. Thanks again for holding her up in prayer.

annms, I know being excluded is not the same as overt bullying yet it can hurt emotionally so much so I think of it as a kind of covert bullying. When I was in elementary school I kept being shuffled around because the classes were designed to be according to intelligence. I was the youngest with a December birthday so I was put in the slow group. Then I got moved to the average group while in first grade( I think that is when I moved, but it could have been in second grade). Then later, 4th grade, I was put in the accelerated. Then in 6th grade moved back to average. It was painful because each move involved coming out of a group that was not accepted by the group I was moved into. It was a horrible series of transitions. I felt a lot of exclusion and even at one time was hit by one of the twin girls in the accelerated group on the playground. So my heart goes out to Becca. My brother was always in the accelerated group so he never knew what my suffering was like.

Continued prayer for Darby. I am told she is fourteen, not fifteen. Her mom anticipates that life support will be removed tomorrow.
For those who did not catch my earlier posts on this, Darby was riding on the back bumper of a van with two other children, when the eighteen year old driver hit a curb at forty miles per hour. Darby was thrown seventeen feet onto her head. The other two stayed on and had not a scratch. She has had no brain activity, though there were so dimly hopeful moments along the way.
Darby had become a Christian and had made her way to a church and youth group in recent months. She had some good talks with our daughters and went to church with them while in the area. We are looking forward to meeting her again.
Her mom is not a believer, though I suspect her stepdad has a past with God. He insisted they come to church with us this past weekend. I don’t know anything about the bio dad who had custody of the child.
Pray for her folks as they grieve. Pray that bitterness is set aside. The bio dad is alleged to have been providing her with alcohol from a young age and it was involved in the incident.
