Please pray for me as I prepare and lead our cell group again tomorrow evening. Last week in the Bible study portion of the group I led an intro to the Beatitudes, and tomorrow we’ll address what it means to be poor in spirit. Thank you!

I know it seems impossible in today’s economy but I would love to move out of this neighborhood. The kids here are having a horrible influence on the Kid. Half the time he comes back from playing either angry or crying. Almost every bad word he has ever learned came from the kids in this neighborhood. I’m not sure another neighborhood would be any better but it is hard to imagine it being any worse.

Today Paul and I will attend Gerard’s memorial service. We pray it will be the celebration of a life well lived as to honor our Lord…just as Gerard would have desired it to be. May those of his family who know not our Lord, come to His saving grace. It’s always difficult to say good bye…especially as we know Lisa and the kids will face rebuilding their lives without him…
Praying for you Tychicus…may our Lord give to you His words of wisdom and direction
kBells…I have prayed that very same prayer…may He hear and move on your behalf and protect the kid from negative influences….

Young friend at prestigious university lives in Christian sorority. One of the members has decided she is gay and wants to explore that lifestyle with another newly discovered gay member of same sorority.
Sorority will vote today on what to do. Of ourselves legal action is planned if th vote, as expected, asks the young women to explore their sexuality elsewhere.
My friend asks for wisdom, but also for us to pray for the young women who are very confused, very emotional and probably about to be used by forces outside of their control. They’re 21 years old and pressures are enormous.
And of course their sorority users, who know and care about them, are being tested on their faith–both with the moral decision about the sorority charter and the heart decision bout following Jesus with grace.
Thanks.

I am requesting prayers for pain relief. I injured my back about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I was in almost constant pain for about 1 week, intermittent pain for another week, then mostly pain-free for the last week and a half. I reinjured it this morning (same spot) and can hardly move right now. Thanks for your prayers.

As I’ve mentioned in the past, I use ” The Prayer Bible” for my morning devotions. Aside from the Bible itself, it is filled with margin prayers that correspond with some of the verses on the same page, lessons about prayer, testimonies about how prayer has affected a person’s life, guides for praying about a particular topic, and quotations from Christian authors and other well-known people.
Yesterday, I came across this quote and want to share it with all of you who come to this Prayer Request Blog:
“Sometimes unanswered prayer is simply the first step on the way to a wonderful answer that needs to come in stages.”
What About Unanswered Prayer?

Thanks for sharing that, Kay. I believe our family is experiencing that. 🙂

The girls’ offer to help the woman with the two broken arms has been accepted. Prayer that they will be wise and compassionate and attentive in their help would be appreciated. Prayer that God will use this opportunity to help them grow in confidence and relation to Him, that she will be helped and blessed through their ministering, and that the community will see God in it all. Thanks.

Prayers for all here. Also prayers for those still suffering from 9/11 losses.
Please pray for my brother who has been out of work since January. He needs something soon. His background is in pharmaceutical sales but he is looking for anything.
Blessings to you all. Thanks for the quote, Kay.

Regretfully, the sorority sisters voted to accept their friends and give up their ties to the Christian sorority. I can’t begin to tell you how sad this makes me feel.

I’d like to add my father-in-law Howard to the list. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital late last night with a high fever and has some type of infection. He’s been admitted and they are running tests. Also for my mother-in-law Betty who is obviously upset. Thanks.

Glad your dad is much better Joanne. Good to see you here. Prayers for a safe trip back to Gambia.
I hope Howard was able to get the right med to control his infection and bring his fever down. May Betty rest in the assurance of the Lord’s care for Howard.
Prayed over all the requests today. May God’s answers become evident, some today, some next week and others in the time only He knows is best.

Thank you, Janice. Yesterday was the last day I experienced any pain from the injury. I’m thankful this time around there were only 3 days that my back hurt rather than 2-3 weeks like before.

I will be on a prayer retreat on Friday and Saturday. I have never been on one before but expect it will be a wonderful experience. Will be thinking of my friends here and their requests.

I keep a notebook of prayer concerns (not only from WV), so I think it would be a good idea if those who request prayer would post updates, especially for short term issues.
