  1. Good morning! It’s a sleepy and foggy start at 52°.

We watched Sweet Home Alabama last night. Has anyone seen any new movies lately that you can recommend?

Art had his business credit card hacked so he is working to straighten that out. We seem to be in one of those times when troubles rain down for a long season. Some have suggested we are under spiritual attack.

  2. I mentioned to my friend, K, yesterday that the kitty, Pumpkin, has a tiny V cut on one of its ears. She told me that is an intentional cut, a mark by a vet, to indicate a feral cat has been neutered or spayed and had its shots. I never knew, but now I do.

  3. Maybe I will talk to myself today 🙂

Every January, my church dedicates the month to doing Soul Care and we incorporate reading and receiving sermons from Psalm 119. In addition to that, this year we are going through the Baptist catechism based on John Piper’s writings.

I found this that includes the basics, but we get commentary and scriptural basis along with the questions. https://www.desiringgod.org/articles/a-baptist-catechism

  4. It’s Saturday! Coolish and blue sky…fifty for a high with slight winds

If I recall correctly you took a waterfall photo and entered it into a contest or am I confused Cheryl. I remember it being quite lovely.

Janice I’m sorry you are enduring the one after another trial. It would seem there are spiritual attacks happening in many of our lives…we certainly are feeling it. Digging into the Word and keeping our minds on Him…He will never leave us nor forsake us. Praying for you all.

  5. I have been going through some of my books. I decided it is a good time to re-read The Light and the Glory by Peter Marshall and David Manuel. I read it years ago and followed up with From Sea to Shining Sea…I will do that again…

Church today then went to Walmart after since it’s next to the church. It was warmish today and extremely windy…high fire danger around these parts when we shouldn’t have to be concerned about that in January! Have mercy we need snow!

  6. Yeah, that waterfall photo that I took and that was publicly “destroyed” by the critics. Well, they didn’t accept any of the photos I submitted to the juried show that year. This year I resubmitted three of the five (I didn’t resubmit the waterfall photo) and all three were accepted. Sometimes the judging is quite subjective!

BTW, Janice, wishing to give my kids their privacy, I’m not sure I ever told you one of my daughters went to Covenant for a year about a decade ago. (She loved it and left only reluctantly, determining she just didn’t want all that debt. Eventually she went to nursing school and got her RN credentials.) My husband and I visited with her when she visited the college (staying overnight on that trip), and to take her to college, and again to pick her up at the end of the school year–and we found the campus incredible.

  7. I’m praying about making a trip to summer this week. Not sure that I’m ready for the 90’s and perhaps even up to a hundred. The worst is switching time zones. But God has a plan and I am praying for His will.
