“You can’t afford another kid because childcare is so expensive—but Somali fraudsters got millions of your taxpayer dollars for child care centers that don’t exist.
You can’t afford a home—but 100 Somalis spent millions of your taxpayer dollars on luxury properties.
You’re paying $30K a year for terrible health care—while they got millions of your taxpayer dollars for health care centers they never opened.
That’s the Democratic elites in a nutshell: You come last. And if you object, they call you racist.”
In the already exposed autism-related Medicaid scheme in Minnesota, they would give parents in the Somali community kickbacks between $300-$1500 per month to get their kids registered as autistic and sign them up for the government programs.”

Don’t you just love that one person can vouch for 8 other people to vote, too? We are just so Minnesota Nice that we trust most everyone, no questions asked. I feel so superior to all you poor people who actually need proof of such things.
I think the big scam began when a certain someone claimed they did not need to show their birth certificate to become POTUS. What a big deal was made over such a small piece of paper.
And, “Just pass the bill. Trust us. No need to read it.”
The slippery slope led to this escalating scam. All of us are Minnasota!

kathaleena — its not just Minnesota, until recently you could vouch for your nieghbor or friend while in line to vote in Ontario. But you did need the voter card that is mailed to you every election.
There were certainly white people involved in fraud. I don’t believe anyone has said there weren’t.
We need to go back to how it was when I first registered to vote. It was at least 30 days in advance. Two forms of ID were required, and you had to have a utility bill or something to show you actually lived where you said you lived.
Walz and his administration was the one who called people racists for wanting to have the fraud checked out.
I did have to laugh when the guy said the daycare wasn’t opened yet, because it was only 10:30. I know of absolutely no daycare that wouldn’t be opened by that time of day, certainly not any daycare for working parents.

Kathaleena – I don’t know if this applies to the one you mentioned, but there are daycares that specialize in later hours for parents who work those later hours.
Splitting hairs to justify something. Yes, there are usually a few oddities that don’t fit the norm. They should not be used to justify or cause people to look the other way on what is apparent fraud. I know, give the benefit of the doubt. And always think the best of everyone.
Not an oddity; its very common for daycare to be after-school only. Almost every school in my district has a before and after school daycare run by a non-profit in the building. In addition, there are numerous private options in the neighbourhood. My daughters primary school had a daycare on the same block that walked kids to and from the school. By providing daycare to only school age children, the licencing requirements are far less onerous.
In one of the videos, the “investigative journalist” is specifically told by someone in the parking lot that the daycare he was claiming didn’t exist was open at 2 pm. He later admitted he was there around noon.
The Republicans are very good at employing the right wing echo chamber to spread outrage in hopes of it spills into the “mainstream”. They are constantly trying to create the next Benghazi or email scandal. Sometimes things get posted on the right side of the internet for a few days and nothing happens so they move on to another outrage but occassionally something catches fire so a full court press is applied. And that seems to have happened here.
Most of what is churning in the internet is old news recycled and exaggerated. Old accusation which never had any foundation such as terrorism funding are being recycled. And the convictions of fraud were mostly related to a white woman who used Somalis prior to Walz becoming Governor. Of the people involved 82 out of 92 were Somali. Somehow 82 people represent the 80 000 Somalis. (Imagine if I was held to represent the Dutch Reformed community of Ontario….)
The “investigative journailist” turns out to be 23 year old Nick Shirley (he looked older in the video I saw). Prior to visiting Minneapolis he was at the White House for an “antifa” conference. Two months later he’s releasing misleading videos of him banging on daycare doors. And Bondi is recycling old news just as Shirley’s videos go viral.
My original impression was this was a target character assassination of Walz for running against Trump. The more I read, the more I become convinced. Some argue its due to upcoming midterms in Minnesota and Walz’s reelection campaign. That too makes sense. Others think its a distraction from Epstein files but I don’t see it …… I really don’t think the Republicans in the White House are worried about the Epstein files. It may hurt Trump’s legacy but for JD Vance and others its about extending the MAGA brand past Trump and for that they need more outrage to gain success
Yes, there is after school care places. These are not advertised as that or getting money for that, as far as we know. We have some centers that need to be at all hours, since we have lots of people who work shiftwork. Most actual centers which cater to after school also do care more than the few hours. Just doing those few hours would not bring in enough money to keep going. Those are usually schools, gyms or childcare centers.
Kathaleena – I don’t know if they have these there, but there are centers that have not only after-school hours, but also later into the evening for parents working those later hours and shifts. Unfortunately, there aren’t as many as are needed, and I think they may be more expensive than the earlier-hours daycares. I am grateful that I was able to be home for my girls, and then also for my grandson.
HRW, in the video I watched (which I didn’t find from this blog, so it may or may not be the one in question), he went to a daycare that had hours listed as starting from 7:00 a.m. or some such early hour, and it was only when he asked about children that they told him the children come later (which likely wasn’t true). Several of the places he visited, at least one person said he had been by the business multiple times and had never seen children there. I’m sure they were showing selective footage, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s misleading. They also showed transportation vans and medical businesses, and at least presented them all as never serving any customers. I assume if that is inaccurate it would be pretty easy for someone else to go to those same businesses during their actual business hours (if posted hours are inaccurate) and show that they do have clients during some time periods. The video I saw was pretty convincing about widespread fraud, and clearly there is a lot of it there (because other people are reporting it too) even if it is possible some of those businesses might have been legitimate. (My hunch is none of the ones they showed are, but there could be evidence otherwise that I haven’t seen.)
Facts.

This would be a great tool for a media that chases down fraud and govt waste.
Too bad we only have propagandists and their handlers in our media landscape.
Track the fraud.

It was white dem/people that hid it.
