It is all Trumps fault because he is attempting to restore law and order in this nation. Simply astounding
California Governor Gavin Newsom, in a desperate and reckless display of defiance, lashed out at President Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan as violent Anti-ICE riots erupted across Los Angeles. The chaos unfolded after ICE agents conducted lawful raids on businesses employing illegal aliens—a necessary enforcement action that Newsom, in typical liberal fashion, condemned as an attack on his sanctuary state. Rather than supporting federal law enforcement, the Democrat governor chose to grandstand, taunting Homan with a juvenile challenge: “Tom, arrest me, let’s go, let’s just get it over with, tough guy.”
“Why Is Governor Newsom Going Full Jefferson Davis? What triggered the American Civil War were state officials who refused to honor federal law and instead boasted of their open defiance of Washington. That precedent apparently is the incendiary model for the weird, but dangerous recent behavior of an increasingly unhinged California Governor Gavin Newsom. He is currently supporting the often-violent protestors in Los Angeles and their resistance to federal officials’ enforcement of immigration laws.Newsom claimed that Trump’s use of ICE to detain those here illegally in the U.S. was “reckless”, “chaotic” and “eroding trust”.Does he think that his own rhetoric is creating calm and building trust by opposing the lawful enforcement of federal statutes? Or is he following the baleful model of arch-Confederate rebel Jefferson Davis?Does Newsom support the similar defiance of fellow resistor Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass?
She all but called for official city resistance to the enforcement of federal law, with an added threat, “We will not stand for this.”
What does Bass—who recently was junketing in Ghana as entire swaths of Los Angeles were incinerated—mean by “we”? All of Los Angeles? The LAPD?
Will Bass use the LA police to stand against federal officers who are implementing the law and have a constitutional right and indeed requirement to enforce federal laws within the states?”
“The big beautiful bill puts a tax on remittances. Mexico knows this is the beginning of the end of their parasitic relationship with the United States.”
Who’s paying for pallets of bricks to be dropped off all over Los Angeles at the exact same time Democrats coordinate ICE raid protests all over the city?
We all know California Democrats, their donors and their NGOs are all involved. It’s so obvious”
“Don’t let the Dishonest media mislead you or make you lose your Focus!
During the 1992 L.A. riots, President George W. Bush mobilized the National Guard, US Army, & US Marines to stop the violent rioters from wrecking Los Angeles.
It’s not “unprecedented.” Trump is not a “dictator.””
“If you are a Californian, the current LA riots are an example of your tax dollars hard at work.
The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Right—CHIRLA—is one of the key players in fomenting the violent response to immigration enforcement actions. It’s an LA-based nonprofit with a history of taking radical positions on immigration; for example, it led a 2018 campaign to abolish ICE. It currently leads the Los Angeles Rapid Response Network, which gathers intel about enforcement actions and deploys activists to respond.
CHIRLA has strong ties to the Democrat Party in California and has supported the election of Democratic candidates through its lobbying arm. It has a particularly close relationship with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. The organization also has a close relationship with organized labor in the state, which in turn is a major financial supporter of Democrat politicians. On Friday, amid rising tensions, CHIRLA held a rally protesting ICE’s enforcement actions and the arrest of SEIU President David Huerta for obstruction.
The incredible part is that CHIRLA’s activities are primarily funded by California taxpayers. I obtained a financial audit that shows that for the fiscal year ending June 2023, it received $34 million from the state, mostly through the Department of Social Services, accounting for 72% of its total revenue. This was nearly a three-fold increase over the previous year.
CHIRLA also received a $450,000 federal contract in 2023, which Mayor Bass publicly took credit for helping secure. DHS froze funding in February, which prompted a lawsuit from CHIRLA. DHA then canceled the contract, and the lawsuit was then dismissed.”
There’s always more to what we can see (or often choose to see).
And remember … But God …
I always wish I could read a history book 50 or 100 or 500 years into the future … Someday we’ll all know so much more than we can possibly “know” now, amen? And most of it probably won’t even really matter.
I am confused. I read that the Dems need the illegals or they will disappear as a political party. I read that Newsome is very low in the opinion of the people. Then I am told that everybody in California voted for this. That does not make sense.
How is it that deploying the National Guard to support Immigration and Customs Enforcement and protect citizens and property is “escalating the violence”? Especially when Pres. Trump has the experience of J6 when the National Guard was not deployed (even though he had requested it)?
Mumsee, as I understand AJ’s comment, it relates to Dems in blue states and big cities who tend to look the other way or remove funding for law enforcement when thugs (hired by who knows who) take “justice” into their own hands and try to create anarchy. I don’t see his comment aimed at all who reside in CA. It does relate to those who find unlawfulness to be the route to their utopian ideas or thinking the world revolves around them and the elites. It is not peace and a good life for everyone that they seek.
I take what you wrote, Mumsee, to be an attempt to act with diplomacy and say in other words that it is unnecessary to point fingers here on the blog.
I know what happened when Atlanta had the lady mayor who defunded police. It was ugly. I am thankful that although we have a Dem mayor for the city, he seems to have acted reasonable so far in making the city safer.
We still have way too many in law enforcement getting shot and killed. That was enabled and encouraged through the tolerance of violence and looting by a certain element. It takes a long time to correct when respect for the law has left a society.
Wording is manipulatively used when the riots are labeled as “ protests”. These are not protests. They are traitorous actions being taken by illegals and their enablers against the US government…plain and simple. Keep blaming the President..he can take it.
Colorado voters get broad brushed all the time. Most of us did not vote the loons in running our state. Denver Boulder and Ft Collins shoulder that blame… you know the cities with the colleges and “intellectuals… 😉
Im stuck in the Edinburgh Airport. In the past you could go through security and find a safe bench to sleep but Europe is cutting down on sleeping rough so I’m stuck in a chair. I need to be really tired to sleep in this position. Perhaps US politics will put me to sleep. Lol.
Apparently Biden deported/returned a million people a year without a riot. More than Trump did in his first term.
The current issue probably comes from the lack of due process, the known incidents of Americans, legal residents apprehended or kidnapped, and of course the actual spectacle of armed masked men grabbing people off the street. It appears to be a delibrate provocation. If ICE would follow the rules as they’ve done for the past four years, the current resistance would not have started.
Eg, Biden prohibited ICE agents from roaming around immigration courts correctly predicting people wouldnt show up for hearings if armed masked men were there.
it will be interesting to see if ICE will hit the 1 million mark this year or will the current ICE behaviour backfire.
as some noted, Republicans have become the party of a strong central govt and the Democrats are advocating states rights. And of course the NRA is very silent not offering second ammendment solutions to a tyrannical govt.
Bricks are a strange weapon. Too heavy and awkward to be effective. I suppose you could use it from a bridge but thats about it. I googled that story but nothing came up. It appears to.be a Facebook rumor. Logically it makes zero sense.
Reminds me. Apparently when LAPD use tear gas its non lethal force but when protesters throw them back (oven mitts) its assault with a deadly weapon. Its the same object so it can’t be both. Why use bricks when the LAPD generously donates a more effective tool. In a Canadian riot, I’ve seen people use hockey sticks to.shoot the canisters back.
Also noted by Newsome and others is the acceptance of sports riots but not political disobedience. I’ve seen Philadelphia football and hockey fans celebrate with more violence. Why not call the Marines on them?
You can arrest all the sports fans who do damage and cause trouble, as far as I am concerned. I have been in a protest and my husband has picketed for the union. Neither of us acted (nor did those with us) in any way these people are acting. To call that a protest is Orwellian and/or just plain lying. I want everyone blocking highways, destroying things, impeding pedestrians or college students arrested, charged and punished. Minneapolis would not have burned if the troops were called in earlier and allowed to actually do something. It is easy for someone who does not have such things happening in their neighborhoods or impeding them in any way to dismiss it.
I am all for peaceful protest, but rioting, stealing etc. is just plain illegal, immoral and wrong.
Isaac Saul’s “My Take” towards the end of the Tangle piece is worth reading. It seems to be a balanced view of the situation, with some of his points leaning right and some leaning left.
Unbelievable that Mexican flags are being displayed at the riots and liberals have no problem with that at all. If they love Mexico so much they should want to go back unless they have something more sinister in mind… which they do!! But of course if they go back to their beloved country the taxpayer gravy train stops for them..,,
