Tax day…ours have been filed and the govt squeezed more out of us. Colorado now wants to tax us on our exorbitant homeowners insurance…I need to move Nj
I put up a trellis and tried a few different clematises. None survive long. Morning Glories do well there, although they usually bloom so late that it isn’t long before frost gets the plant.
Right now, we have snow on the ground, so it will be a while before we see those beautiful blooms here.
I need to check in with my tax folks, they tend to do the “dump” on filing day and I trust them (I pay them enough), but I really wish they were better communicators … I start to get nervous.
DJ, that was well said. Encourage marriage and singleness, they both have their place and are equally important. It is serving Christ in the way He provides that matters.
It’s hard to believe, but IRS gave an extension to TN as late as this weekend to say they now have a deadl8ne date of May 1st for tax filing. And even more insane is that today, on the 15th, they gave Arkansas a new deadline of May 1.
Unfortunately, we listened to our local news, Fox 5, ATL, indicate that people in their viewing area have to get their taxes filed today. Art said that news would have clients clamoring to his office today where he will be hard at work toward the May 1 deadline.
Agree mumsee, too often the pendulum swings and (now) “everyone” must be married with political finger-pointing at those not complying. Fact is, it’s not typically an individual ‘choice’ in these matters, “but God” …
I agree there’s a legitimate concern about fertility & birth rates dropping, but that’s a whole other issue with various causes and without necessarily a simple solution.
I was awakened by a “shrieking” coyote at 1 a.m. this morning, he or she was close, and desperate/excited (mating season), I just couldn’t figure out which side of my house the racket was coming from. We have a very active bunch very close by this year.
Unfortunately, too many churches do not even encourage young men and women living together to marry or preach against it.
The church has to speak against the lies told in the society in which it exists. That may vary by culture. In the US most young people do not get married until they have two or more children. That idea should be recognized and the truth of scripture told.
Some people are not meant to marry just like the Apostle Paul. Our church has sure been blessed by some, as have I as an individual.
I have always liked the thought of that expression, “the gift of singleness.” For a Christian that means more freedom to go about God’s business on earth.
Since Art has always been so busy with his business, we have not gone the route of most married couples and had friendships with couples. I have tended to be friends with single ladies, the never married, the divorced, and the widows. I greatly appreciate the singles I know. I totally get it that each scenario is unto itself for the reasons a person is single.
Our son has been single a long time. I have been totally okay with that knowing he was pouring his heart and energies into being an excellent teacher. Now he has met a good match, but distance has made it difficult. I have expectation that things will progress toward lifelong commitment. I pray for God’s best and know He will make a way if He wants it to move on to marriage.
I am thankful my brother never married because I know him too well . . . too difficult to get along with for times lasting longer than a few hours. He is one who should never be married. I am glad that he gets along well with Art and our son.
Dj we had coyotes out back last night and they attacked our resident fox…caught on camera around 2am. We saw Tod” on the garage side camera a short while later drinking from the water pail..he was limping. But he just visited about and hour ago and was as spy as before…🦊
My taxes are filed and they took the money, but it turns out that I didn’t owe that money and should have gotten a refund. I filed my amended version and have no idea how long it will take to get the money back. oh, well.
Speaking of weather, I went swimming today as our pool just opened.
I find it ironic that the income tax law took effect exactly one year after the Titanic sank, and on the anniversary of when Lincoln died.

Good afternoon. It was a long prayer call with the Bible study ladies today. We had more on the line than usual.

The color on the clematis fades a bit as the blooms last several days. The color on that one was early so more vibrant.

And he replied, said “almost done” but filed an extension just to be safe …

I’ve also known many singles who would have made wonderful mates and parents.
But God …
