  1. Good earliest afternoon!

I have been doing a little prep work for Art for the next tax season.

Something I can do is stick labels on envelopes. We need more envelopes. I got stiff from sitting so long while I worked.

I listened to my friend’s pastor teach about Revelation. He is teaching from the angle that Revelation has seven different views of the same thing and that the repetition is to thoroughly encourage the readers at any time and place that Jesus wins. He said it is reason to not take things that we see now and make them fit with bits and pieces of Revelation. It is an interesting way to look at the book which I have not heard taught before.

I also listened to another podcast about Proverbs. Later I may decide to stream a movie from Angel Studios while I stick labels on envelopes.

Art’s long time printer establishment seems to have gone out of business. He usually has everything printed on nice letterhead, but there was no time to find a new person to handle it. I suggested using stickers on envelopes . . . so I got hired (w/o pay).

  2. 6 degrees wind chill -13. Five fresh inches of snow. Husband and I took a three mile walk through the neighborhood. He said in our almost 50 years together he has never seen my cheeks so rosy!!😂 It was an exhilarating walk!

  3. Our forecast for tomorrow says that it will be snowing from about 1:00 tomorrow afternoon until about 7:00 Monday morning. One forecast says 6 to 8 inches, but another says 4 to 8 inches, with some areas maybe getting 10 inches The kids won’t have a snow day because they already have the day off for Martin Luther King Day. 😀

  4. Ours was upped to 6 to 10 now.

Thank goodness Isaac is a strapping young fella, because there’s no way I could do it. Plus I’d rather pay him than a stranger.

  5. Chilly, with winds forecast to return this upcoming week. Fire containment continues to grow. But it’s all so sad.

My elder will be in the pulpit preaching today — from 2 Corinthians (5:14-21 “Because I Am in Christ”). He’s thoughtful, calm, soft-spoken, gifted in preaching and public prayer; I wonder if our annual biz meeting is today also, it always falls in January.

But how can it be January already?

Hoping Cheryl and her husband were able to make it to church today.

  6. My dad may not go next week. He did not hear one word that guy said. Which is too bad because he had a lot of good stuff on our Hope.

Half of our congregation was out with illness today. The pastor was in the hospital and is on oxygen now. RSV. So business meeting is postponed again for lack of a quorum.

  7. The high today was 46° at 9 a.m. and it has steadily dropped. By in the early morning it will be 17° Some type of frozen precip is expected Tues. I will not be walking out in the wind. I do walk in reasonable cold but not in cold with wind.

NJ and her husband can walk for my part out in their cold! That would be torture for me! But for others, it is a great challenge, I feel sure.

  8. We were at -41C when Tim left for church this morning. Sinus infection kept me home.

We’re home from helping care for dad. I expect we’ll be heading back to Calgary soon.

  9. Brrr, Kare. We only had -21, although many not that far away had quite a bit colder. The wind chills are in the 140’s, which is bad enough. I am glad to stay home.

  10. It’s 2 degrees now and snowing. 2 is our high until Tuesday… our low is to be -14.

No church today… roads awful and dangerous temps for our mostly senior citizen congregation.

We had a lovely evening at our friend and neighbor’s home. Their home is on the market and there is sudden interest from CA people..I thought that might happen.

  11. I wouldn’t care for a older, gassy repairman myself, but each to his own.

It was 25 below and windy this morning. I am grateful to be able to stay inside again.
