  1. I saw a reel on Fox News that the first meal the WH Chef will prepare for the incoming President is a Tomahawk steak. I had to look it up to find out it is a ribeye. It looks delicious

    I suppose he has to do a practice run. Nice for whoever gets to be the tester!

  9. I’ve decided to ignore the news as much as possible — far too much speculation right now. I’ll absorb any changes on a day to day basis and not subject myself to the “sky is falling” mentality I’m seeing out there

    I do note that the inauguration has been moved to the rotunda/indoors with room for only 900. Apparently, it’s going to be too cold? A few degrees colder than an Obama inauguration but not as cold as one of Reagan’s inauguration. Strange but as the Germans say “there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing choices”.

    Trump has also issued his own meme cyrpto coin which, of course, has soared in value. Given his admin has promised to be pro-cyrpto and deregulate the market, this should be seen as a possible conflict of interest. News like this reminds me that Carter sold his peanut farm to avoid a conflict of interest.

    Meme coins make Bitcoin look old fashioned. The coins are issued by just about anyone, the value rises and then at a certain point, someone starts the run on it. Classic “pump and dump”.

    The free market has become absurd and the oligarchs are getting silly

  10. As a Canadian, there’s one aspect of the absurd state of affairs we find ourselves in that’s been amusing. Pollierve leader of the Conservative party has been campaigning for at least two years to have

    an election over Trudeau and the carbon tax. Even two weeks ago, he was demanding a carbon tax election with his slogan “axe the tax”. An inordinate amount of money was spent on advertising etc.

    Ever since Trump’s 25% tarriff threat and other threats and Trudeau’s resignation, the focus has shifted to how will the candidates respond to Trump’s policies? The Liberals have managed to create a Team Canada approach with 9 of the 10 premiers on-board (including all the conservatives except one). Two years of campaigning are slowing going down the drain and our conservative party has “axe the tax” merchandise with nowhere to go. It’s going to be a fun 3-5 months here. Maybe just maybe the Liberals might resurrect themselves. (Note: my district votes NDP as I do so I have no horse in this race, just something to watch)
