  1. I meant to step out and see if the Lights were visible, since I saw many say they were. Totally forgot. Love the photo.

Our great-granddaughter turns a year old. I cannot believe a year has gone by already! I wish we lived closer, but we cannot live closer to all of them. Such is modern life for many of us. I am grateful for instant communication advances.

I hope you all have a good weekend.

  2. What an amazing photo of our Lord’s wondrous skies! Just fascinating Kare!!

Still snowing here with a prediction it will finally end by noon? The branches of our pines are laden with wet heavy snow…hoping the boughs remain strong enough not to break! Now to try and dig out the driveway…no plows in sight yet.

  3. I’m so glad I went to Alaska and wore 17 layers of clothing to NOT see what Kare posted! LOL

Fortunately, as we sayin our family, it’s not about the experience, it’s about the STORY! 😅

Home from the Writer’s Conference, the final trip of the year. A wonderful start on Tuesday with seeing Jo, then a 92 year old friend, and then books, words, stories, friends, and talking, talking, and praying for three straight days.

    I’m thankful for so much.

  4. My husband took all the pictures with his camera. It was incredible to be outside (not bundled up in 17 layers – just a warm coat and socks in my slides). These are from earlier this fall. But Tim was taking a few pictures through the windows last night of more northern lights when he was up in the middle of the night. It’s been an incredible year for northern lights.

The part that made watching the lights so incredibly amazing was the wolves also howling – and for quite a long time, too. Tim said it was like they were praising God for the beautiful display.

I, too, am thankful for instant communication. My DIL sends so many fun pictures and videos of the grandkids almost every day. We also get to FaceTime them when we can’t be there on their birthdays and just because 🙂

  5. The weather cooled down enough that I needed a windbreaker for my walk.

Surprisingly, I saw not one other person out walking. Usually a lot of dog walkers are out then. Finally I realized they were all inside watching the Dawgs play, those Georgia Bulldogs!

It got dark so soon! The streetlights came on. I need to adjust my walking time.

My friend wants to give me a Ninja Foodie Pressure Cooker/Air Fryer. Does anyone have experience with that?

  6. Smarty pants…here?? 😂 And that must have been amazing to have wolves serenading you as you breathed in all that beauty!

Janice my daughter cooks with her air fryer all the time. She works full time and is feeding two teenage boys and husband (and granddaughter and her friends when she comes home from nursing school) Daughter loves it. I don’t have one because I don’t want to store one more appliance! And I have plenty of time to cook without one.

  7. I don’t have that particular appliance, but imagine it would be great to have, Janice. I know several who love their instant pots and air fryers. I love my air fryer, but it is a toaster oven, too, and can be used in a variety of ways. I use it mostly for the fryer aspect. It is quick and easy. I suspect how much you use it would be equal to how much you are willing to learn its use and experiment with it. There is always a learning curve with a new appliance. I know a friend who swears by the Instant pot for healthy meals, and I know you are interested in that. She also hard boils eggs-a dozen at a time.

  8. Good morning on this beautiful mid November day. Thirty eight degrees out there. Enjoying the visiting grandchildren and son out law. Husband heads out after they all leave but brother rolls in. Other brother and his wife came by yesterday. The bios are planning a surprise visit Thanksgiving, in celebration of husband turning seventy. Sshhh, he does not know. We can expect around fifteen surprises. Since he cooks, I wonder how he will see the surprise?!!

  9. Daughter bought me an insta pot because she likes hers so much. But I do not do the cooking here so it does not see much use. Husband has the air fryer and it sees a lot of use. Reheating food, baking, frying, etc.

  10. Reheated French fries are the only thing I’ve had out of an air fryer – they were as good as fresh!

Husband uses our instant pot to make yogurt. That’s about the only thing it gets used for. But like Kathaleena said, it takes time to learn a new appliance and I haven’t had that time. I think he owes me another Christmas present as that is what he gave me one year – I have never used it. 🙂

  11. My friend said it could be used to make yogurt. She also has an added piece of equipment used to dehydrate food. And it can make beef jerky. On this healthier type diet, I have missed corn chips. I think I might learn to make some veggies chips.
