  3. Nearly half of the eligible voters in Georgia have early voted. We are doing our part. The polls can begin tabulation of early voting in the morning of Election Day to give a headstart to getting to the totals. Thankful that all has gone smoothly to this point here in Georgia.

    I heard we will have one more rally here by Kamala, maybe on Sunday. She really likes to hang out in these parts. Maybe she is checking in with her friend Fani who is on the ballot in this election, too. I guess with all the Dems here, she feels she is not hanging out with trashy people.

    How did they turn a comedian’s mistake on the other side into their own worse mistake? Just another bit of divine humor. Why allow an insult to a smaller country go to waste? Why not turn it into an insult to half or more of the population of a much larger country?

  6. My grandson voted for the first time. This is in TN. My daughter had never seen a line like the one that greeted them last afternoon. They only had to wait about 25 minutes, however, as everything was done very efficiently. Everyone who voted for the first time was invited to ring a bell!

  25. I laughed when I heard Trump say that he didn’t want to wear that vest when he went before the huge crowd he was speaking before. His advisors gave in to his wish for his suit jacket, but then mentioned that he looks thinner in the vest. That was when he decided to wear it. Too funny and so many can relate.

    I wish all the trash talk would stop, but I don’t see that anytime soon.

    Crudeness has infiltrated everything. I saw that just going through the toy section of a big home building store. Poop used to be the big joke for Kindergarteners. Now it seems to be for everyone. And that is probably the least crude. Sad, IMO. Understandable when you know human nature.

  26. From what I’ve read, the “problem” with Dominion voting machines that Michigan Secretary of State Benson spoke about isn’t really a programming bug so much as clunky design. It doesn’t prevent you from voting the way you want, nor does it change your vote.

    This is the issue: You get an error message when you try to submit the ballot if you selected the straight party ticket option at the top, and then picked candidates from a different party further down. Instructions on paper ballots have always said that doing so would invalidate the ballot, so it’s just as well that the machines flag an error.

    A better design would be not to let you do that to begin with. It should disable all the partisan choices on the ballot if you hit a straight party ticket option. You would have to unselect that option if you want to cast any votes on the other side.

    Another point is that the vast majority of Michigan voting is done on paper ballots. This issue is with “voter assistance terminals”. There is only a small number of these, available for people with disabilities that make filling out a paper ballot difficult.

  30. I know. I apologize to Kathaleena who wished for no more trash talk. What is here today will be gone tomorrow. Every time the calendar rolls over there is a new big thing.

    Tomorrow ends early voting here. I have one friend who has not voted. She says she does not have time. I explained that since she is disabled that she can go to the front of the line and it only takes ten minutes. I do feel some anger about her not voting since I know she’d vote for Trump.

And, oh, my friend with whom I’d chilled conversation (resorted to texts only during the political season) but broke the chill when they had a home disaster and needed some talk support . . . told me a bit ago that Kamala’s ads weren’t as negative as Trump’s ads until just recently. I said they were equally as bad. But we did not argue the point. She just does not get it.

    Judge Matthew Barrett had this to say:

    “You are no hero, you abused you position, and you’re a charlatan who used and is still using your position to pedal a snake oil that has been proven to be junk time and time again.”

    Peters was accused of giving someone unauthorized access to the Mesa County election system.

    “Today sentencing sends a really clear message that Colorado will not tolerate any threats to our elections,” Secretary of State Jena Griswold said.

    Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser also released a statement saying in part quote:

    “Tina Peters violated her duty as an election official and seriously compromised trust with her fellow Coloradans. Today, the court handed down a fair and just sentence for her criminal acts…”

    Since Peters was first charged Colorado has passed a number of laws regarding election security and tampering.

    “My office will act very quickly to safeguard and protect the voice of every voter in the state Republican, Democrat, and unaffiliated alike,” Griswold said.
