  1. Morning all. Friends got off early yesterday. They fly out to Australia on Thursday. Smart way to miss the chaos.

So… at Bible study yesterday friends were talking about they had been told that ballots here had been misprinted and the machine could not read them. Most were having to vote again or go in for in person. Not sure what I will do. They said that the ballots that came in the mail would not work.

  2. Flipped on the heater this morning. Snow in the mountains — “It’s a dusting, but it counts” was the morning post from Big Bear.

I think we’re getting (maybe) some rain at the coast this weekend, but we’ll see.

Well, the Yankees lived to fight another day.

I still need to transfer sample ballot choices to the regular ballot and drop it off at the Italian-American Club in my neighborhood.

  3. Today’s the day Abby will be swept away by the trainer for a few hours alone to do some intensive car work. Mainly I think it will give the trainer more insight as she will be able to observe her without me.

  4. The trainer will decide if it is the mom or the child with the problem! 🙂 We already know. Definitely the child

We had a slight mist in the air this a.m. so not sure that counts for rainfall in Georgia in October. We are trying to be a record breaker for an October with no rain.

Jo, that is not good about those ballots. Sorry to hear about that glitch.

Georgia has had record turnout for early voting. I know one couple who are hold outs for voting on election day. Probably my brother will be one of those, too.

  5. It’s snowing….30 degrees outside and Lula does not want to come in the house….she is in Aussie heaven on earth! I asked her if she wanted to come in from the porch and I got the “are you insane” look!!

I brought in the pumpkins so they might last a wee bit longer…then they go to the neighbor’s pig farm!

  6. I figure the Dodgers should lose two games in New York so they can be back in LA to win their fourth in front of home town fans.

At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

  7. Found my brother’s obituary online this morning. I am not mentioned among those he leaves behind.

It doesn’t really surprise me, but it is sad.

On the funeral home website, where the obit was, I was able to order some flowers for the service. I ordered a lovely bouquet of red flowers and white flowers, in a red glass vase, as one thing that Chuck and I had in common was our love for the color red. These are beautiful!

  8. Oh Kizzie….I continue to ask the Lord to comfort you. And I pray those beautiful flowers and the love behind them will touch the hearts of your sis in law and niece. I am so sorry your brother missed out on a sweet relationship with you…praying his girls will reach out to you…and our Lord…

  9. Praying also, Kizzie. Broken relationships on earth, part of all this fallenness. But you did everything you could and the flowers and card are a gracious gesture that I’m sure the family will appreciate.

Kevin, yes, we’re calculating when the parade will be – if they win tonight the parade here in LA will be Friday; if they win later, the parade will be Monday (the day before Election Day – and the day we all may be going on strike, so editors’ nightmare – but we hope it won’t come to a strike).

Janice, the problem is most definitely the (fearful, neurotic, stubborn) dog 🙂

  10. Art watched some of the Dodgers game last night. He saw Freddie Freeman do his homerun thing and said how Freeman had been with the Braves previously when they were in the World Series.

The Braves had way too many injuries this year to play up to par. Maybe next year. As for now, Go Dodgers!

  11. DJ, I hope I did not offend with the parent and child comment. It was more a thought about how certain authorities look for reasons to take children away from their parents. I know you are an excellent and better informed than the average pet owner. traumatized male am knowing in my heart that Abby has some kind of weird past that has traumatized and made her react as she does.

Please, dear God, let this be the time of breakthrough and overcoming of whatever it is that acts as a block for Abby. Thank You God for fixing that little broken part of her brain/body connection. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  12. Janice, odd thing to interject.

i, however, lay the problem squarely on the owner.

When is the last time Abby got to have her nails done? Does she get to choose her polish? How about her food? Is it cooked fresh every day? Does she have the trending accoutrements for her trip to the park? One does not want to show up in last year’s boots and sweater. Most importantly, where is her new cat?

  13. haha, you guys are too funny.

Yes, a cat and a car and a fashionable sweater and a chauffeur for Abby!

I was going to wipe her down with these “fresh (coconut) tropical” grooming wipes before she gets picked up but busy today at work and I see the time already is just flying by, trainer may be her shortly!

  14. Janice— traumatized male. That’s funny. I could strangle my phone sometimes and auto correct is the worst for me. I sent a text message on my work phone and it ended up a semi coherent message about a ‘clothes line’. Fortunately my coworkers have a good sense of humor mostly. :–)

  15. Doggie boot camp seems to be a big field trip — from the horse park for smells to the bluff tops overlooking the ocean for different smells and ‘exploring.’ 🙂 I’m getting photos … Jealous!
