  1. Observations when early voting in GA:

    • First time to not fill out paper form when entering (one less paper record to account for how many voted and their signatures)

    • Before getting our voter key card to insert in the machines, we did have to sign a screen. My signature when written like that looks nothing like my true signature.

    • We got a printed copy of our ballot to run through a scanner to be a second level of accountability that should match up with what went through the system. The print was too small for me to read to verify, but Art said his did record his proper vote.

    • Our voter cards that we inserted in the machines were marked on the back with a number 1 or 2 indicating the scanner the paper ballot would be put into. There were few people in line for the number one scanner which we were sent to. The majority of voters were in the number 2 line. I wonder if the scanners are a division of Republican and Democrats? Maybe there was a third scanner for others, not sure. Just curious about that, why the distinction and separation? I guess they can daily see which candidate is in the lead and see who needs to get more votes in to beat the other side by hook or crook/crock?

I worked at the polls some years back. Procedures have changed. I worked when the machines first came into use. They have been questionable since the first use.

  2. Well let’s hope so….

I mean if not, then what’s the point of an enemies list? 🙄

“Al Sharpton says he is convinced he is on Donald Trump’s “list” and will be thrown in jail if Trump wins the election.

    All out panic on MSNBC.

Donny Deutsch: “Rev, are you worried going forward that you’re on a list if Donald Trump is elected?”

Sharpton: “I’m convinced I’ll be on the list. I don’t know how we are not going to be.”

    Deutsch: “This is America!””

  3. “Anonymous,” can we stop with the snide remarks aimed pointedly at several of us here, simply because we have different ideas and other opinions? Thanking you in advance.

  4. They’re desperate. The media will of course seize on this, as the corrupt judge intends, and try to further attack Trump with 24/7 coverage. Again, as designed.

“Brace for Jack Smith October Surprise Round 2 tomorrow.

Judge Chutkan is going to unseal Jack Smith’s appendix.

You know. Because it’s totally normal for the government to unseal reams of grand jury material before a trial even begins.

    NOT!”

“New York AG Leticia James campaigned on bankrupting Trump and putting him in jail — she nearly succeeded

Yet tonight, Leticia James bulls**t charges against Trump are being eviscerated by the NY Supreme Court right as she is forced to stand for Trump & applaud him

  5. So you’re telling me the NYTimes helped spread fake news, and lies, again, for political reasons…

“This is stunning: The New York Times “plagiarism expert” now confirms that the paper deliberately withheld the full Kamala Harris plagiarism report from him and that, after analyzing the full claims, Harris’s plagiarism is “more serious” than he told the Times.”

  6. The part many miss, and many see, but ignore.

“@PlanetTyrus talks about how President Trump talked to his 10-year-old daughter for 20 minutes after they taped an episode of Gutfeld:

“You could have been her grandfather. You were talking about her horses and dreams. I was sitting there and I was like ‘I have been so wrong about this man’ because I never understood why you fight.””

PRESIDENT TRUMP: I love doing it. I don’t need praise for it. I just like helping people. I help a lot of people. I enjoy doing it. It’s not a narrative the press likes to talk about.”

Act Blue has been named in a bombshell racketeering lawsuit by a Wisconsin Republican strategist who alleges his identity was stolen to make at least 385 fraudulent donations to left-wing causes — including to the Harris Victory Fund.”

  9. I like this. We get a conservative policy, America first president, a smart and sharp VP and future president who’s even more so, and we get the world’s smartest entrepreneur/rocket scientist thrown in as a bonus.

    And he’s got ideas I love….

  10. I checked with a friend who also early voted. She said the scanners had alphabet letters associated with each scanner so it would be logical that since our last name begins with G that we’d go to the first scanner. Hmm . . . why use the 1 and 2 with a sticker on the back of the card? Wondering if the sticker could have skewed how things processed? Why do I even have to question such things?

Because we live where we live and the stakes are so high.

  11. Kevin – I appreciate your comment at the end of yesterday’s thread. That is something that has frustrated me as well. It’s as if we have been put into a certain box, and everything we comment is filtered through that preconception.

  12. I liked AJ’s post about the roast simply because it gave me the whole of the roast and not just pre-chosen snippets that I had seen on Fox this morning.

By liking it, I was not thinking at all about the use of NT’s. I guess in the future he needs to write the warning using words such as this, “For those who don’t care for Trump, you’d probably want to skip over this.” That would be more diplomatic, yes? Do you have other words you’d prefer? Maybe be specific and he will hopefully say it in a palatable way next time.

I don’t like to be put in a box by others myself so I get where you are coming from. It does take a little more time to say things in a softer way.

I enjoyed watching Schumer’s expression almost as much as listening to Trump. I did not get to see that at all on the Fox snippet. Those two men have a very long history.

  13. Janice, I think some of us know which comments to skip. 🙂 We’ve learned a few things in these past couple years.

As for the disrespect, we’ve become used to it, maybe (mostly) immune by now, nothing much surprises me anymore; but it doesn’t make it right.

Saying things more “softly” misses the point, though – but you’re close.

The issue is more basic, simply learning how to post with respect (and not to post at all if you can’t do that for the moment); understanding there are those among us who disagree; learning how to state an opinion with conviction and intelligence while not attacking others who disagree. It’s just about being respectful.

I’m afraid “X” has ruined our public discourse, I just hate to see it among believers. And trust me, I’ve failed at my own standard at times — and I need to bite my tongue (and fingers) at times — but that’s the key, isn’t it? If your hand causes you to sin …

    Know yourself.

  14. This has all, also, caught me on what is otherwise a difficult day for other reasons. I hope my post above doesn’t come off as harsh or judgmental. It’s just what is hitting me (again) this morning.

We’re in a volatile and unpleasant (to say the least) period in this nation, I’d only hope we could have some more measured and respectful discussions here, at least. Coming here (for me) sometimes only makes the tension much worse. (I know, so don’t come here, right? 🙂 ) (I do take breaks for several days, and they help. 🙂 )

    Carry on.

  15. Sure X has ruined it, and not the biased, partisan, often lying, and corrupt mainstream media. They did this to themselves, but hey, why take responsibility when you have a boogie man, right?

Self examination and reflection among the media is non-existent.

  16. But personal self-reflection is doable. We can only control own behavior once we see we’re “off.”

I can’t fix the nation; I can’t fix “the media” writ large or any other big business for that matter. I can only take hard looks at myself.

  17. Maybe I’m dense, but I didn’t realize AJ’s post about Never Trumpers referred to anyone here on the blog until DJ seemed to say it did. I thought you guys were NOT Never Trump. I assume you do know there are actual Never Trumpers. They named themselves. Many of them are now supporting Harris.

X has not in any way ruined my discourse, public or otherwise. If I’m not interested in it I don’t read it. It’s so simple. Why should someone else’s choice to read and post be so offensive for some people. Say something relevant yourself. Say something YOU want to talk about. If no one responds, try, try again. It’s how conversation works. Everyone has something to say that’s worth listening to, but sometimes it takes some effort.

As for Black Insurrectionist and the allegation against Waltz, if that turns out to be bogus, I would be really disappointed to see him used as a reference again here on the blog, and would probably call it out by name. It is time to hold our own sources to account specifically, and if we don’t we really can’t legitimately complain when someone else does. That goes for mainstream sources too. I think these are conversations worth having.

  18. Debra, easy, now, I was speaking generally about the nation’s level of discourse. But you seriously haven’t noticed a change? (which has, actually, impacted some on the blog?) A few of us have taken a bit of a beating over the years that sometimes seems too pointed and excessive.

The discourse issue overall goes back a ways, of course, probably with the overall rise of social media sites, perhaps with the Trump era (there I said it). X just seems to be the wildest of the sites, politically speaking (which is why I do try to avoid looking at it much and that is actually one good way to cope).

Carry on. We’ve survived elections before (maybe not ones as heated as this one in my memory, but so it goes).
