  1. Thanks, Peter!

    Merry Friday, Wanderers!

We did second round at the same medical building as yesterday, but had to go to Lane E instead of Lane D today. E is for knees and D is for ankles. Lane E is at the end of the building and the waiting area has a lovely view of the new Children’s Healthcalare of Atlanta hospital which has much greater capacity than the old hospital on the Emory campus. The new hospital will open in a month or two. It is about fifteen minutes away unless there are traffic problems. We live so close to the best care in Georgia and perhaps in the SE.

Art has a new knee brace and some prescription pain reliever cream to use on his knee and ankle when needed. He has a second referral for PT.

  2. I am working on doing all of my exercises and noticing a difference

thinking of Chas I mentioned to granddaughter yesterday about keeping track on cell phone. She said that her mom and cousin can track her. So mom can track her from Colorado but I have no idea where she is interesting

  3. No, I don’t have a recipe for nut burgers. I have a good recipe, at least to me, for chickpea patties. I have never even seen a nut burger. It sounds interesting. Where did you have it? Can you ask the chef what it is made of?

  4. I watched some videos of the tornados and recognized one of the places it went through. These are friends. I am so relieved and thankful to the Lord they were all right. They did have some damage. Lots of trees down and an older garage roof was taken off. It could have been so much worse.

A young friend posted a video and said she had thought of taking her two littles out for a four-wheeler ride. If she had done so, she would have been in the path! She talked about how all our seemingly small decisions can make for some life changing situations. So true.

  5. Janice, love your hospital descriptions with all the “lanes.” I have some of that topical pain reliever (it’s a salve) that I use occasionally on my knees. So far the knees are basically still good, doing their job and I can even walk at a good clip still.

GP gave me a prescription for one of those heavy-duty braces when we discovered the small meniscus tear in the other (good) knee, but that thing was SO uncomfortable, you can’t drive with them (no comments please, mumsee) and my orthopedist, when I went to see him, kind of shrugged, saying if it helped fined, but otherwise if it’s uncomfortable don’t bother; rest of the knee looks good and he basically suggested I just “live my life,” if there’s pain we can do shots, but otherwise call if something changes.

    That worked for me.

Friday at last, covering an la city council meeting in about an hour (virtually) and looks like a fairly easy day for me compared the the rest of what’s been a busy week.

  6. I wish I had a video of my oldest seeing her dad for the first time after he shave off his beard. She was a little unsettled to say the least. However, that didn’t last long.
