We are around 75° with the expectation to go up to 87°. The weather has provided lower humidity lately with breezes so it’s been pleasant. We expected to sit on the deck at the Downwind restaurant late yesterday, but for some reason the deck was not open for use.
We went to an outdoor concert last evening. The weather was perfect. The band included a member who is a nephew of a friend. We visited with the friend a bit, (mostly with her daughter who is close in age to me) whom we hadn’t seen since her nephew performed last August. She was on crutches and had been through chemo and radiation. We had no idea. She is 91. She told me the crutches do not keep her from mowing the lawn! She has a very big lawn, so uses a riding lawnmower. She was frustrated she couldn’t do much housework because of the crutches. Her daughter does live with her now. Both could use some prayer.
Wow (@11:24), still mowing the lawn and going to outdoor concerts … Blessings to your friend, Kathaleena, she’s got spunk. Glad her daughter lives with her and I will remember them in prayer. Life can get so challenging.
I’m trying to get a story done by the end of this week that’s been challenging (just in terms of reaching the folks I need to talk to), a feature (we have to do several apiece) for one of our special sections (“Kindness”) highlighting good people doing good things in our various communities.
And for anyone wondering, Christmas this year falls on … a Wednesday. 😦 Worst-case scenario for working people who don’t work for companies that give lots of holiday time off. We do get the day off (and usually are cut loose early on Christmas Eve). I’ll try to grab some vacation days around then perhaps but then you just feel guilty as it puts more stress on others working through it all.
Still not able to repeat the success the trainer and I had getting Abby to jump into the car. I try every evening — and she will put her front paws up (so that’s some progress) onto the passenger seat to reach the treat. But looks like I’ll have to pay the trainer again to come back for a few more practices. No one I know who has had dogs has ever had this issue and I certainly haven’t seen anything like this before with all the dogs I’ve had.
Wow, Aj, what exciting news that has been a long time coming. You have brightened all of our days with your news.
Don’t think I will go to Hawaii, too much planning and not sure my granddaughter will want to. I don’t have anyone else to go with and don’t want to go alone.
But I know that I need a trip. I am thinking Yosemite and then a few days around Monterey. I am comfortable doing that alone.
My retired missionary friend here hust returned from a long awaited trip to the Philippines. He original trip got canceled by Covid. She posted many photos on Facebook. I was amazed at how many people she saw for her month or maybe longer there.
We were so close to Yosemite when we visited our daughter when she lived in Fresno for a year. She did an internship in a children’s hospital. She also had her first son born there. Being a new mom, she was not happy that the car seat did not sit in our back seat without any wiggling. We did not want to go by ourselves. We were there to visit our new grandson and daughter, but it sure would have been fun to visit the park. Oh, well, there will probably be lots of places to visit in the renewed heavens and earth someday.
Good morning, Wanderers!

Ok. Here’s an update.
I had a CT Scan on Tuesday to see if the last 2 surgeries did what they were supposed to do.
I saw my PC Doc yesterday and he spilled the beans before my Urologist appt on Monday.
The scan shows the leak has stopped! Praise God for that!
It also showed my kidneys look great, no signs of cancer or metastasization anywhere. Lymph nodes and all look good too.
We can now begin the process to reverse the colostomy!
God is good.
Thank you all for your prayers and friendship. It’s meant a lot to us.

Yosemite is beautiful. Jo, you remind me of a good friend who’s always had the wanderlust, a vacation trip somewhere for her is a must every year.
