Good morning. We will be off to a gig celebrating a firehall anniversary. This is not in our township, but in the one of a fellow performer.
The older I get the more I find acquaintances living in the homes where the group performs. Yesterday there was a woman who we have known for decades. She worked with abused women, as guardian ad litem and in the pro-life movement for decades. In her last years she has volunteered in the area nursing homes. Now she is in an assisted living place herself. She was so glad to see us and yet was a bit sad to know she was now living in the place while we could still go home. She is still serving the Lord among the people she is living among. Isn’t it a joy to realize that whatever is done unto the Lord is never lost like so much else is in this life?
Good morning. My dad is quite restless this morning. He has been up for hours so I am up also. Sounds like another beautiful day here. Birds are singing, sun is brightening the smoke but not up yet.
Good morning! It is a cloudy day so not very hot yet. The weather announcer called it muggy as we still have a lot of evaporation after days of rain.
I am still inspecting what all was accomplished by the tree people yesterday. I did notice a large clay pot of rosemary missing and I found the cracked pot and loosed plant in the yard by the azaleas. Son had left that here last year. Maybe I will plant it in the yard instead of repotting.
I have a celebration of an adoption party to attend later. That should be a very pleasant time for all.
Got the oil changed, coolant topped off and windshield wiper blades replaced at the quickie chain car maintenance place this morning.
When I typed an earlier message to a friend, though, I said I was getting an oil change for the ‘cat.’
“t” and “r,” too close on the phone when thumb typing.
Meanwhile, more landslide movement on our peninsula so gas company has shut off all gas service to about 300-400 homes as of this morning (our area is not impacted by the landslide — not yet, anyway); forwarded the email that was sent to me by a resident to editor/reporter covering that area.
Abby’s trainer returns later this afternoon for another effort.
74 here, expecting 82. My dad went to bed thinking it was nice so I left daughter on call and got my exercise in and some mowing done. When I returned, he had just gotten up for the day.
We had a wonderful time at the adoption celebration. It was in a gym at a church and billed an ice cream social. So happy for the finalization. It can take so long for kids in the foster system. It felt like a family reunion to be with people from my former church who have all scattered.
We had another visiting pastor today who did the last of the series on Old Testament prayers. He spoke on Psalm 23, a great choice given the turmoil in our world right now.

Janice, I hadn’t heard that song. Interesting. I do love the Isaacs. I think it is Sonja who is doing background vocals?

Morning! I spot a wee bit of blue sky! We saw a spit of rain last night and it must have washed some smoke out of the air.

Oh, and our humidity-wave appears to be breaking, yesterday was much better; it’s 69 right now, only going up to 72 or so.

Good morning, all. I believe we slept through most of the night. His cookies and pediolyte are still there. Off into Sunday, we go.
