  1. NJ @ 12:06pm yesterday: Not so funny funnies because they are tragically all too real!

Political cartoonists have always exaggerated reality to get their point across. Sometimes funny, sometimes not so much.

  2. I finally had opportunity to listen to the Chief’s kicker commencement speech. Very good and not the threat to society some people seem to think. I did not agree with everything.

  3. Good morning! It’s more beautiful in Idaho this morning than in gray and drizzly Atlanta.

We went for breakfast at Waffle House with my Bro. It was pleasant as he talked about family history and relatives, old family portraits dumped on him from one limb of the family tree, portraits of unknowns who he may or may not discover are in our bloodline. Being in charge of the family reunion makes him the recipient of such curiosities.

As we were parting he asked about my eyes. I did not know Art had shared with him about my decline in vision. He did formally offer to drive ne to appointments. I said thanks but with no intention of accepting an invitation to be alone with him to put me in line for his sniper attacks. He is on good behavior while Art and Son are around, so a meal out works fine for my token involvement with him.

  4. Morning! It is beautifully warm out here today!

Janice what a sweet blessing that your brother contributed to a pleasant breakfast with you! And the ride offer was a sweet gesture but you are wise to be wary given his history.

Amazon can be the most frustrating and most satisfying experience. Right now they are frustrating me with a “delayed” shipment which was shipped over a week ago. Customer service says it is with UPS and not them…as though that is supposed to exempt them from the problem. When I told them I would be disputing the charge for this order they came back and said they could re ship Monday and get it to me by Wednesday. I looked at this same item on their site and it indicated the customer could get it Monday if ordered today! NJ

  5. Amazon has its quirks!

son wanted a piece of luggage for his July birthday. My friend said her wealyhy clients use a sturdy brand named Away. I looked to see if Amazon carried it. Google brought up Away luggage at Amazon. I clicked the link. The first thong that showed up was the Amazon brand of luggage and then others. I never saw Away, but did not scroll all the way through. At the Away site, their best seller carry-on was $295. We bought Samsonite at Marshall’s for $.99

At Waffle House this a.m. I was ready to crawl out of our booth and do the shift for our waitress. She was hunched over to one side like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. When she smiled, half her teeth were missing. I think she must get double tips out of sympathy. She was nice and got all the things the guys asked for. I did not want to ask for anything because it pained me to watch her. Art payed for the meal. Bro offered to tip, but Art said no, he’d get it. So thankful as Art is generous, and Bro is a stingy tipper.

  6. What? 99-cent luggage??

Amazon gets it right 98% of the time — fast, efficient, the right stuff landing on the right porch. I think sometimes their 3rd party sellers are slower and sometimes things get delayed or lost to the point where they offer you a cancelation option.

  7. When Amazon does not carry a specific brand, the site brings up similar merchandise in the hopes that the customer will find something equivalent and buy it from them.

There have been a couple times when I received the wrong item, and Amazon not only sent me the correct one, but also said that I could keep the mistaken item.

  8. Lilke I said it can be satisfying and frustrating. I am dealing with the frustrating at the moment. Hopefully this seller will make it right. If not I dispute the charges and they get a negative review.😳

  9. Good morning, all. My dad has been fretting over what to wear to church since yesterday. The positive is that he figured out on his own that Sunday and church were coming!

A lovely surprise: Where the patches of sod have died, the ajuga is poking up it’s sleepy head(s)!!!

My friend saw it and pointed it out to me♡

She had brought a few things by. One was a Kosher Coke she’d bought for Art, one of the large bottles. She set it down on the hood of her SUV. It slid and exploded as it hit the ground. The spewing bottle landed about eight feet away in front of our porch. We later found the busted yellow cap (with Hebrew on top) in the yard on the other side of the driveway. It was a bottle rocket. Wow! Such excitement. It was a jolly good show. Enough was left that Art got to try some Coke made with cane sugar instead of corn syrup.
