Good morning, all. Another beautiful day here. A couple of us are off to Boise for a Lauren Daigle concert. The rest will stay and mow grass or watch tennis or whatever.
Janice, I so miss hearing music around our house, too. I hear plenty of music at jams but miss hearing the children playing and my husband and daughter singing and playing together. Life moves on and there is good and bad in that.
Off to play at a monthly gig at an assisted living facility today. There are very few audience members, but those who come are so grateful. What a privilege for the jam members! One, (the woman who is the best at connecting with the audience) will be missing as she has all week. She and her husband have Covid once again. It is interesting how the same people seem to get that over and over, while others do not.
That magnolia tree is at the end of the boardwalk trail. It was a delight to see so many blossoms in a bunch which is rare to see.
I had an appointment this morning at the Emory campus. It was a six month followup physical check which is done between annual mammograms. Things look okay but my eczema is flared up, higher, near my shoulder, as a leftover effect from radiation. I was told I have good range of motion in that shoulder which I attributed to good PT.
Morning! Beautiful flowers Janice! No magnolias around here…actually I have no flowers yet but a neighbor down the road has daffodils at the entrance of his driveway.
I am headed to have brunch with my neighbor while husband is trimming tree branches that are too close to the house. If I can’t find him around here I usually go out and look up in the trees! He is very safety conscious and ties himself off with his climbing ropes.
So glad you get to go to that Christian concert, Mumsee. I had reason to recall going to rock concerts, when I wasmuch younger, and smelling the unique odor of marijuana smoke. As son and I were on the trail walking at the park, I smelled that odor from the woods and knew someone was smoking it nearby. I asked son if he ever smelled that on his Christian campus and he said no.
We received our annual invitation postcard to our Family Reunion in South Georgia. My brother is in charge of the family reunion. It used to draw over a hundred people, but it really bit the dust with Covid. We have not attended in years. It is always so hot in South Georgia in June. Frequently it fell when Son was attending summer camps. I think he’s only been once during his childhood except when he was a baby.
Magnolia! We only have the smaller varieties here.

Janice, I am part of the mowing contingent. Husband and daughter are going. I am here for my dad with son. I do not attend concerts if I can help it.

Ok @1:15, I was really trying to get my head around the image of mumsee rocking out at a concert, swaying with arms waving to the beat, eyes closed.

Writing the intro story for Fleet Week today I had “aircraft terrier” in the lede.
That might have gotten even more people out to attend this year.
