  1. Good morning and I read them. I imagine a good system would pick up on the honest ones and select them as jurors. Dishonest ones would have all the right answers and it should be clear. But we don’t seem to have the good players in our good system to make it run well.

  2. I’ve been dealing with a bout of sciatica in the past 2 days, it was particularly bothersome late yesterday and into last night. It’s better this morning but still painful. Any advice? I remember stretching exercises seemed to help.

I’m working a later shift to cover a City Council meeting tonight; tomorrow it’s another night assignment for a landslide town hall meeting. But I also have the monthly port of la news briefing tomorrow morning; someone else will probably be assigned to fill in there.

On a positive note, I finally got a good, full night’s sleep last night and could even sleep a little later this morning due to taking the late shift. And the sun is out this morning.

  3. Morning

Snow was on the ground this morning but is now all melted. It is cloudy and windy but warmish.

My doctor is so pleased with my healing and I can add foods one at a time to my diet…I have no appetite.
The pathology report came back it was as he suspected … that gallbladder needed to be removed! No cancer thankfully and I have about a month to get up to speed for “normal”. Thankful for your prayer cover my friends. Nj

  4. sciatica:

drs told me nothing. phys therapist told me not to stand so straight. Our backs are designed with a bend, we need that. Military bearing does not work. PT said to let the s of the spine work. Severe pain while pregnant first couple times, for months, even to not being able to get out of bed unassisted. After her words, never had a problem again. If it started, I simply remembered her words and relaxed my stance.

Of course there could be other causes for pinching the nerve but that has worked for me.

  5. Good afternoon. Another nice header photo.

Our Bible study leader is out of town so six of us prayed together over the phone for over an hour and a half. Then Intercessors for America had a prayer time for Israel along with updates abput what happened Saturday. It is very interesting about the coalitoon of nations that worked together to assist Israel. Busy day of prayer for me.

The weather is gorgeous again today. I’d love to be outside all day but indoor chores would be neglected.

Art got home around 10:30 yesterday, earlier than expected. All the exrensions got filed. No need to hang around.

In case you did not see, last night I asked him if people who expect a refund have to file by the 15th. He said, “There is no penalyy if they don’t.” I asked when they would notice the return had not been filed. He said, “Late summer when they start running their matching programs.”

  6. And I, of course, thought “What a dumb suggestion, this pain is much worse than that for an answer!” Kind of like some guy being told to go wash in the river seven times. “ I could have washed in my own river!”

  7. Thanks mumsee, I talked to my other local cousin B who has been dealing with it as well lately, he confirmed something I read that said it’s actually good to walk. So I’ve been walking around the house this morning, will go out to the yard; maybe I’ll be able to do a shorter walk w/Abby later today, but my work day will start by mid-afternoon and probably go late tonight.

  8. The header photo may look like a sunset, but it was taken in the middle of the afternoon, a minute or two before the eclipse was complete. (It never got totally dark, which surprised me. I didn’t think to look for the stars, though I’d been told they could be seen during a total eclipse.)

  9. That is how it looked for us, and we could see one of the planets plainly South of the sun. The horizon looked like a pretty sunset.

As for the jury questions: some of them I would answer “None of your business.”

  10. Attorneys and the process are fairly effective at vetting potential jurors. Yes, they can refuse to answer, and the attorneys can make what they will of that. Ironically, refusing to answer can actually speak loudly and clearly as a particular answer. You’d likely be excused, Peter, but perhaps that would be your goal. 🙂

For those who lie, it’s often brought out with further questioning or just a 6th sense that veteran trial attorneys have developed.

Anyway, it appears there were 5 or so jurors already seated by the end of today which was done more quickly than anticipated.

Meanwhile, this is a good read:

Why Cancel Culture Needs the Breathtaking Mercy of God’s Kingdom

~ Thankfully, cancel culture will not have the last word in God’s kingdom. Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy” (Matt. 5:7). Every time we extend mercy, forgiveness, and compassion in the name of Christ—when we extend love that pardons others for their guilt—we testify to the divine mercy God has shown us, and we reveal mercy to a world that so desperately needs it. ~

  11. Glad to hear the good report NJ.

Praying dj, sciatica is no fun.

AJ saw the Dr today. He is quite pleased. Everything’s going as they’d hoped. Next surgery will be the 30th, and then hopefully only one more needed to reverse the colostomy in a month ot two. That’s the one I’m most looking forward to.

As you can see, insomnia has reared its ugly head again. Not much going on at 2 am, even the cats are sleeping….
