Still a little rain here. My family left yesterday and drove home to Portland. They got up very early to prepare for the long drive. I got up and watched them prepare as well as finding things, etc.
I was so blessed. Everyone quietly worked together. To watch my son pack up the car and quietly serve his family was a joy. When we took trips I usually had to do it all. To see him make trip after trip to the car to pack up and quietly ask his children to do a few things was so sweet.
I don’t know if words can express how much that meant to me.
Good afternoon everyone. It’s so pleasant here–probably upper 60s/low 70s and sunny and breezy. I’m sitting in the shade in the back yard watching Teddy (our dachshund). A lovely male cardinal has just arrived to provide a serenade from a tree behind the newly blooming dogwood. And 6 or 8 large carpenter bees are buzzing around me. They are quite beautiful and don’t seem to sting. At least they haven’t stung me yet. I’ve heard that only the queen stings. I’ll let you know if that turns out to be misinformation. :–)
Cheryl, re your prayer request. I would so love to fly down and meet you and do all the hikes with you. I LOVE the desert and hiking in it. Although last time I learned that if the trail says it’s a wash, then it can be a slow slog through loose sand and that needs to be taken into account. I really wish I could do that, but busy time is ramping up everyday for spring outdoor rec and summer camp programs.
Happy Easter Everyone. I will have a full house. BG, Little Miss, the Mommy and the Daddy AND I will have Nana.
Sister-in-Law is taking a well deserved weekend away with her husband. She goes every morning to make sure Nana is up and dressed, checks in during the day, and goes back at night to get her in bed. Nephew lives there and fixes her coffee and takes it to her every morning in bed, which is extra sweet because that is what Pop always did for her.
Ex-Husband called her Thursday to ask if she wanted to go to his house with his wife and her children and grandchildren. She told him she “Didn’t believe she did”.
We went to Fairhope yesterday for Little Miss to visit and do all her things. I called SIL to see if she and Nana wanted to meet for lunch and heard what was going on, I told SIL I would see if she wanted to come here. SIL asked her before I did, and Nana said she “wanted to go with Chloe”.
Sooooo Chloe will pick her up and bring her here for the afternoon. Mr P says she reminds him of his mother, so I am very lucky there. Little Miss thinks she is HER Nana too.
NONE of us have said anything to her son about where she will be tomorrow.
Today the Easter Bunny did his thing and he got Nana’s favorite candy for her to have.
So you all know that I love my son and was blessed to see him serve his family. However, there is always something, right, He programmed my heating in a way I don’t understand. This morning when I got up at 6:30 my house was at 70 degrees. So I have to figure out what he did and undo it!!! I don’t mind setting the heat morning and evening, no worries. I do not want the heat to do its own thing.
Also he programmed my little vacuum. I do not need my home to be vacuumed everyday
good morning, all, a beautiful frosty day this morning.

we have been out playing corn hole. I am supposed to be learning to fly my new drone but I am only on page 11 of the seventy five page users manual.

I left home at 7 to help at church and then go to the early service. What a blessing.
Christ is Risen He is Lord Just some wonderful hymns of praise.
