  1. Double posted, to News Thread, too.

    Good morning.

The news out of Baltimore about the container ship bringing down the bridge is horrible.

A missions group at church, including six from my Sunday school class were in Baltimore a couple of weeks ago working with a downtown church plant.

  2. And another duplicate . . .

In lighter news, a disgruntled waste management former employee stole a front end loader and went out on the streets with it. Police did not have any heavy duty vehicles to chase it (at 30 mph) so they used a second front end loader to go after the guy. He is now in jail.

  3. Good Morning! Blue skies and sunshine around these parts!! It’s cold and more snow will come in this afternoon but as for now…Springish!!!

Janice what a horrifying sight to watch that bridge collapse! I pray for all those involved in this tragic scene.

My sweet friend has been in Maryland this entire month to be with her son. She has had many trips to and fro to Baltimore to be with him. He is in John Hopkins awaiting surgery that was supposed to happen yesterday but has now been rescheduled for tomorrow…his 35th birthday!

  4. I was up too late last night and saw the video of that bridge incident before I went to sleep. Horrible but happened in the wee hours there? Didn’t appear to be any traffic on the bridge? I haven’t caught up on it today.

I’m back to work, already have a couple things going on. Spent picking up in the living room; looks better, still needs some more work.

  5. Tuesday continues to roll along. It is my laundry day and has been for forty years, ever since my husband (picking up on one of my many shortcomings) suggested choosing a day, how about Tuesday? And it stuck.

  6. I admire those who have scheduled days for chores. I have always went more by the levels of the piles of laundry and let that dictate when I do laundry. I think that is the right- brained approach to chores

At Bible study a few said their memory verses. I had Psalm 98:1, “Sing a new song to the Lord for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and holy arm have worked salvation for him.” A lady in the group was on the phone and went to her piano where she played and sang a song she had conposed and written based on our subject of surrender . That was really an unexpected treat. Another lady had brought in what seemed a lifetime collection of handbags and let us choose a few if we wanted. Fun time!

  7. Trump has a Bible to sell ($59.99 but you also get some patriotic additions included inside)

    ~

From his “Truth” site: “Happy Holy Week! Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless the USA Bible,” Trump wrote, directing his supporters to a website selling the book for $59.99.

… “All Americans need a Bible in their home, and I have many. It’s my favorite book,” Trump said in the video posted on Truth Social. “I’m proud to endorse and encourage you to get this Bible. We must make America pray again.”

Billing itself as “the the only Bible endorsed by President Trump!” the new venture’s website calls it “Easy-to-read” with “large print” and a “slim design” that “invites you to explore God’s Word anywhere, any time.”

Besides a King James Version translation, it includes copies of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as a handwritten chorus of the famous Greenwood song. … ~

  8. That said, I do believe Trump is a Christian and that God is working on him as He is on me. There are many specialty Bibles, they are used, presumably, to get the Word of Truth into the hands and hearts of more people.

  9. A Gardner might like a Bible with a gardening direction and find themselves reading Truth whereas they would not have picked up a Bible.

    A youth, a teen, a fisherman, an animal lover…

Why not a politically focused or patriot focused or nationalist ( in the bad way)? Heaven will be teeming with people, snatched from the jaws of death, clothes carrying the smell of smoke, all gathered through the cross in their own unique way.

  10. Sorry, my post should have gone on the political thread which I don’t visit too often anymore. Though I was there, but guess I wasn’t lol.

I would have no clue as to Trump’s spiritual status not knowing him personally. One looks for evidence in people’s lives; so it’s an unknown, more information would be needed.

A politician hawking personally-endorsed Bibles — with added national documents, “only $59.99!” — is something I find disturbing and distasteful, however. God have mercy.

  11. *thought I was there

I have never liked Bibles with a person’s name interjected in the title, even by pastors.

A whole lot less so with politicians.

  12. But I don’t have a specialty Bible and no plans to get one. But I won’t say God can’t use them to bring people to the Truth.

  13. God most definitely uses His Word to reach people.

But my post was more about the political use of it in this campaign. I find that disturbing.

  14. To me, “easy to read” and “King James Version” are not synonymous. The New King James is, though, but I suppose there are copyright royalties involved with that version.

  15. i have missed a few days of doing arm exercise and now I am feeling the stiff shoulder. Gotta be diligent. Walking a mile or two daily does nothing for the shoulder.

I received a jury summons. Now I have to file for exemption for Age 70 and Older. If I was doing better, I would go do the civic duty, but I am feeling and acting all of my 70 years. 😀😒

  16. Some people just desperately want to believe whatever bad they read, especially about Trump.

He sold his likeness and markets what they sell. Celebrities do this all the time. In fact, he’s contractually obligated to do so.

“The Bible’s website states the product “is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign.”

“GodBlessTheUSABible.com is not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Ventures LLC or any of their respective principals or affiliates,” it says.

Instead, it says, “GodBlessTheUSABible.com uses Donald J. Trump’s name, likeness and image under paid license from CIC Ventures LLC, which license may be terminated or revoked according to its terms.”

While he plugged it, to make money, he has nothing to do with its publication.

Cmon. Are you all really this desperate?

  17. Oh the horror!

Telling Christians to exercise their God given rights, along with their rights as citizens, and telling them what they are. Encouraging folks to read the Bible and to bring faith back into the public square.

    Oh the humanity….. 🙄
