  1. Prayer here as we have offered to bring in my ninety five year old uncle. His children have taken care of him and my aunt (until her death about eight years ago. He is very challenging and they recently put him in a home. But we thought we should offer. We will see what God does.

  2. Bless you, mumsee.

Prayers for my neighbors, she is having a very slow rebound from the knee surgeries. She used to be so active but now sleeps off and on during the day from the sounds of it and seems just generally out of steam, her husband as well. They’ve been through quite the life change in the past three years. 😦

  3. Mumsee – Please be careful that he isn’t the kind of “challenging” that could be dangerous.

As you may remember, we took care of my MIL here for over four years, but her behavior did become dangerous for her and for me. She was unsteady on her feet, but would resist any help, to the point of physically pushing people away. That was why the priest at the Catholic church she was being taken to (by a local lady) suggested that she should not be brought to church anymore, as she was strongly resisting people who tried to help her, even when she was obviously unsteady on her feet.

It was shortly after that that our doctor suggested that it was time for her to be in a nursing home. It was a sad decision, but was the wise one at that time.

  4. There were other factors, too, such as her not eating or drinking enough, despite my best efforts, and she became dehydrated. (I felt so bad about that, but I honestly did my best to encourage her to drink, and always kept something she would like to drink next to her.)
