My husband had the plastic eye protector put on his eye immediately. I did not. I put it on myself before I slept. I do not wear it during the day. I do hope my vision gets better soon. I do see much brighter with the eye the surgery was performed on. I know it will be great when all is finished. The little differences in treatment is interesting.
We live in amazing times, don’t we. Blessings on improved eyesight for you K.
Well, I guess I now, after most of my life, need to put aside my favorite basketball team–in favor of the local high school’s #42: our oldest Adorable.
Yikes, we watched quite a game last night–and his team, “the team to beat because of the ‘big man’ #42,” squeaked it out with seconds left.
They put the shield on my eye right after surgery and I was told to keep it on for 24 hours, the eye doctor would remove it when I went in for the followup appointment the next day. Then I had to wear it overnight for 1 week after that. I was so glad to be rid of that, it was annoying but not a huge deal.
Busy day today, have a virtual news conference in about 20 minutes, a story to write after that, and then an eye doctor appt at 2:30 to (I think) get tested for new glasses — they should be pretty weak compared to the prescriptions I’ve been wearing for years now, so I’m looking forward to having just a little boost for distance (and prescription for reading, right now I get by with some low-powered drug store readers but can manage even without those on the computer).
Amazing.
And so nice to walk the dog without glasses on. 🙂 Haven’t done that since I was able to wear contacts some years ago now.
Morning! Husband is now making me use a new bigger phone.. I don’t love it!
My fingers are still fat and the key pad is no larger… just the phone!
Snow coming in this afternoon…the deer are out searching for food. Mama doe was licking the pine tree and babies decided to mimic her. Must have been some sweet sap on it I suppose 🦌 🌲
I remember wearing the shield for several days and thought it made me look like an alien. 😀 It doesn’t take much, lol
It was all the drpps that were tiresome to me. Enough already! I think because Miss B always wants to be near my face, I was glad to have the shield while healing.
Unto us a (grand)child is born, unto us a (grand)son is given. D2 had an 8#12oz boy at 12:10pm. The doctor decided to induce. SIL said it would probably be early afternoon, and it was about the earliest it could be. This is their 8th child and our 9th grandchild.
Congrats Peter — and to the budding basketball star from @10:21.
How can next week be the week before Christmas? Sheesh.
Finished my morning assignment, story turned in, off to the eye doctor after making sure editor has no questions.
I had two other follow-appointments with other doctors scheduled this month for various body parts which I pushed off until January. Too many doctors, too many appointments! Sheesh again.
Congratulations, Peter. I have a grandson who was born on this day, too.
If I need glasses for close up, I am looking forward to actually be able to see what they look like when trying pairs on. When your eyes are very bad, that is a challenge.
I think the doctor was a little disappointed in my reaction to the surgery. It is difficult to be thrilled when you feel a bit sick and woozy. Depth perception issues make things more difficult. I feel for the couple of people I know who have one glass eye. What a challenge!
Had to dilate my eyes today which I wasn’t expecting — and couldn’t find any frames I liked.
Dr said I only might want to use the glasses for driving for that “little extra” help but that’s optional; otherwise, I’m good to go (though need help reading, of course). So I will again go with one main progressive-lens pair as I suspect I’ll opt to wear them driving. -dj
