Let’s remember to lift up Kathaleena today as she undergoes eye surgery.
Anyone else have something to share?
Psalm 136
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.
4 to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
5 who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
6 who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
7 who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.
8 the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
9 the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.
10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
His love endures forever.
11 and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
His love endures forever.
13 to him who divided the Red Sea asunder
His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
His love endures forever.
16 to him who led his people through the wilderness;
His love endures forever.
17 to him who struck down great kings,
His love endures forever.
18 and killed mighty kings—
His love endures forever.
19 Sihon king of the Amorites
His love endures forever.
20 and Og king of Bashan—
His love endures forever.
21 and gave their land as an inheritance,
His love endures forever.
22 an inheritance to his servant Israel.
His love endures forever.
23 He remembered us in our low estate
His love endures forever.
24 and freed us from our enemies.
His love endures forever.
25 He gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.
26 Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.
Praising God that I made it to Seventy!

So I’m reading the pre surgery stuff again. Friday I will be unconscious, so it is what it is. I won’t know much til it’s over. But the day before prep is a little frightening.
Normal breakfast, light lunch, lots of clear liquids after that. Sounds reasonable.
But then it goes downhill. Fast.
At 3pm- 4 Dulcolax with 8oz of water, twice the dosage on the package. Doesn’t sound fun, but I can live with that. 🤨
Then at 4pm- Mix 238g bottle of Miralax (the bottle says it’s 14 daily doses for keeping you regular) to 64ox of Gatorade, shake to dissolved, drink at your own pace, could take 3-4 hours to completely finish. 😲
Shower the night before, and the morning of surgery with special soap.
Last, and probably the most horrifying, is administer Fleets enema 2 hours before surgery. 😳
So yeah….. coping is sometimes hard.

Oh, the real. You can do this. Absolutely not wanting to but this is the path before you. Praying you through.

AJ, the Lord has you in the palm of his hand, and we have your back in prayer (and prayers for your family as well). You are not alone on this unpleasant path. You can do it.

You have my prayers as well. None of that is what anyone wants.
My surgery went well. The longest part is waiting for the eye to dilate and my turn. All the personal were fabulous. So kind and thoughtful. I am thankful for God creating people who love to do this type of thing.
I am perpetually motion sick right now and it is very difficult to see. I had the lens removed from my glasses today, instead of waiting until tomorrow. I couldn’t see at all with the lens in. Mostly I am keeping one eye closed right now. That should get better. The eye done does show everything much brighter for sure. Depth perception is terrible.
Thank you so much for your prayers. It was a comfort to realize people were praying.
It all got me to thinking about the first ones who tried this process and each who perfected it. One of the blessings of people being made in the image of our Creator is that we also create. Just not out of nothing. More reason to praise our wonderful God and Father.

Happy 70th Birthday, Janice!
Praying for you, AJ.
Glad you had a positive experience with the today’s cataract surgery, Kathaleena.
Please pray for Nightingale as she studies for finals coming up on Friday. This has been a tough class, especially because of all that has been going on with her son.

Praying, AJ, that’s a tough road just to prepare. 😦 I’m sorry you’re having to battle this, but grateful we have a God who knows and is with us — and that our doctors have the medical weapons with which to fight. Hoping and praying you’ll be coming back strong by Christmas and the New Year.
Kathaleena, they took the one lens out of my glasses, too — but I had the transition lenses (doctor’s strong suggestion for me) so when I took a new press pass photo (and DMV photo but I haven’t seen that one yet) it looks really weird, one eye shaded, the other not … Sigh. Guess I didn’t have to worry so much about the hair looking OK. I should have remembered to take the glasses off for the press pass shot (and DMV if they’d have let me?) but I was in a hurry and it just slipped my mind.
Sorry about the motion sickness, I didn’t get that, it just felt uncomfortable for the first 24 hours or so — and blurry, things clear up fast in a matter of 1-2 days and it is amazing how much clearer one eye is compared to the other one then. -dj

DMV did not let me wear glasses last two times.
Motion sickness? Remind me never to go near an eye doctor.
